According to multiple sources now, including CBS Sr. Insider Josina Anderson and first reported by Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, the Cleveland Browns have signed QB Jamies Winston to a 1-year contract worth 8.7 million dollars.
Winston was the #1 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
After spending his first 5 seasons with Tampa Bay, he has spent the last 4 seasons with the New Orleans Saints.
He will replace Joe Flacco as the Browns primary backup QB, which means that Dorain Thompson-Robinson will be the 3rd string or will be the practice squad QB.
In his career Winston has thrown for 22,104 yards, with 141 TDs and 72 INTs. He has a 61.2% career passing completion percentage.
Personally, I don’t like this signing at all. He has a long history of off and on the field problems.
From committing theft at a grocery store, to ignoring the play calling of his head coach, this isn’t something that the Browns need in the locker room.
