The Cleveland Browns are going to sign HB Nyheim Hines to a 1-year contract worth up to $3.5 million dollars.
The Browns lost All-Pro and Pro Bowl starting HB Nick Chubb in Week 2 against Pittsburgh last season, to a gruesome knee injury.
Chubb has since had 2 surgeries and it’s expected that he will not be ready when the 2024 season begins.
The Browns used backup Jerome Ford most of the time, and resigned Kareem Hunt to spell him.
Hines is a 3rd string running back at best.
Hines best utilized in the return game.
For his career, he has 2 punt return as well as 2 kickoff return touchdowns.
I expect that this signing means more about WR Jakeem Grant inability to stay healthy, than it is about Hines being a decent HB.
