The final day of the NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium featured the big hog mollies up front.

The offensive linemen were front and center on the field and they put on a show for the fans.

The top prospects did what they were supposed do.

Nobody was surprised that Alt, Fashanu and Fautanu all had a great combine. They solidified their spots in many mock drafts and are going to be 1st round draft picks. Beebe who also solidified himself as a high 2nd rounder if he didn’t sneak himself into the bottom of the 1st.

So here we go, the winners and losers for day 4.

Winner – Taner Bortolini – C – Wisconsin

The 6’4″, 303 lbs, offensive center came into the combine as a mostly unknown. After his performance today, everybody knows who he is.

The Wisconsin Badger ran a 4.94 43-yard dash with a very quick 1.69 10-yard split.

Even I popped up out of my recliner when I saw that. It Almost made me spill my Faygo Grape. LOL.

Shout out to the National Beverage Corps.

He dominated the on-the-field drills with quick feet and burst off the snap. He did a great job on the pulling drills, getting his hips open and driving through to the finish. He showed strong hands with good pop on the bags.

He is definitely the second-best Center in this draft class.

Losers – TV viewers

The TV viewers had to sit, watch and listen to Rich Eisen and Taylor Lewan drool and swallow, every single time one of the Michigan offensive linemen come onto the screen, it was absolutely terrible.

Even when Jones or Barnhardt would almost fall down, they’d still say “that was a good rep”. It was nauseating.

Winner – Christian Haynes – OG – Connecticut

The UConn Husky measured in at 6’3″ and 317 lbs. Which was lighter than I and most people thought he would.

He started off with a very nice 5.03 40 with a 1.75 10-yard split.

He did quite well in the on-the-field drills. He showed quick feet, he showed a good burst when pulling, and followed through with is hands when hitting the pads. He got his hips around so quickly on the pass protection drill, you’d thought he was an OT.

His 4 years of starting experience along with the film and his performance at the combine, will make him a guaranteed, Day 2 draft pick.

Winner – The city of Indianapolis

The NFL Combine brings in an estimated 10 million dollars in revenue to the city.

It’s a 3-hour drive from Chicago and it’s less than a 4-hour drive from Cleveland, Cincinnati and St. Louis, so fans from all over the Midwest can make the drive without a lot of trouble.

Current players, coaches, front office staff, TV personalities, and Hall of Famers are on the concourse and lighthearted thanks to the atmosphere of the combine.

Hopefully, the NFL actually does something right, and keeps the NFL Combine in Indianapolis as it has been since 1987.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
