Las Vegas—Tommy Novak netted his fourth goal within five games, contributing to the Nashville Predators’ 5-3 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night.

Additional goals were scored by Luke Evangelista, former Knight Cody Glass, Cole Smith, and Gustav Nyquist for the Predators. Roman Josi and Ryan McDonagh provided two assists each, while Kevin Lankinen, making his first start since Jan. 27, made 23 saves.

Alex Pietrangelo, William Karlsson, and Michael Amadio found the net for the Golden Knights, who competed in their second consecutive game on back-to-back nights. Adin Hill made 35 saves.

Evangelista notched his second consecutive goal by skating into the right circle and firing a wrist shot beneath Hill’s arm, giving Nashville an early 1-0 advantage.

Later in the period, Pietrangelo equalized the game with a wrist shot from the right circle that found the far side, top shelf past Lankinen.

With less than a minute left in the first period, Glass unleashed a shot from the top of the slot, beating Hill over his blocker to put Nashville back in the lead.

The Predators extended their lead to two goals midway through the second period when Novak slipped the puck past Hill’s legs, making it 3-1.

Smith widened Nashville’s lead to three goals by firing a shot from the left circle that eluded Hill’s grasp.

The Golden Knights launched an offensive assault in the third period, with Karlsson capitalizing on a power-play opportunity just 47 seconds in. Shea Theodore, playing his first game since Nov. 22, assisted on the goal.

Amadio injected late-game suspense with a goal in the third period, narrowing Nashville’s lead to one, but Nyquist responded with an empty-netter to seal the victory.

On Thursday night the Golden Knights will look break the home losing streak (3 consecutive home losses) against the Maple Leafs.
