On the Nightcap podcast with Shannon Sharpe , former all-pro receiver Chad Johnson said that Russell Wilson will be a Steeler in 2024. 

“A little birdie told me, and I said this many shows ago, Russell Wilson’s coming on over to the Steelers,” Johnson said.

Speculation surrounds Russell Wilson as one of the quarterbacks reportedly under consideration by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Denver Broncos’ current quarterback is anticipated to be released and subsequently signed for the veteran minimum. The Steelers are leading the pack in the race to acquire Wilson, according to DraftKings. The Steelers are -250 odds favorites to land Super Bowl champ Russell Wilson.

In 2023, Wilson recorded 26 touchdown passes and only eight interceptions. Among the quarterbacks rumored to be connected to Pittsburgh, he is projected to be the most financially prudent option.

Pittsburgh would likely need to allocate very little money for this acquisition , given that the league’s minimum salary for 2024 is set at only $915,000. Following internal contract disputes, Wilson was sidelined by Denver, and it’s probable that Denver will absorb the dead cap space in 2024, freeing Wilson to explore free agency.
