Travis Kelce, already famous as a football star, experienced an even greater surge in media attention when his relationship with pop star Taylor Swift was revealed last season. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end reportedly invested in a $6 million private mansion in October.
All due to the unexpected visits he received at his previous residence, as disclosed by his brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce.
“He had to completely move out of his house,” Kelce told NBA great Shaquille O’Neal on Thursday’s episode of The Big Podcast With Shaq. “People were just staying by his house. The first day he moved into the new house … a gated community, someone knocks on a window of the house.”
While the Kelce’s are a house hold name, Being “swiftie” famous is a different level.
Jason went on to say “We’ve always been big in the football world, Travis especially. The Taylor world and the pop culture world, that’s a whole different level. It’s a new demographic that wasn’t there before.”
Throughout the 2023 season, Taylor Swift was present at most of the Chiefs’ games, most notably Super Bowl LVIII.
Kansas City secured its third championship in five seasons. Their post-game celebrations, including their (Travis and Taylor) affectionate moments on the field and their festivities at a Las Vegas club after the victory, quickly went viral, drawing widespread attention.
What do you think football fans, does this continue into next season or will the Taylor & Travis saga come to an end?
