Villanova got us a rocking chair winner, as we move to 14-7 over our last 21 plays. With everyone’s eyes and money on the big game, we head to the ice to try and grab some early money. The Washington Capitals welcome the Vancouver Canucks for a matinee in DC. The Caps come in off a huge upset Saturday afternoon, defeating the Boston Bruins 3-0. Washington had lost six straight before ending their current losing streak. Sitting seven points out of the final wild card spot, the Capitals have been respectable at home with a 13-8-4 record.
Vancouver losers of their last two, play very well on the road, currently 16-8-4 away from Rogers Arena. The Canucks took their foot off the gas blowing a 3-1 at the hands of Red Wings during Saturday’s matchup. Vancouver has no issues finding the back of the net, ranking second in the league in goals and first in shooting percentage. The defense has also been stout sitting third in goals allowed.
Both of these teams are on a back to back with travel, starting their number one goalie after playing their backups in Saturday’s game. Vancouver has yet to experience a three game losing steak this season and will be looking to keep it that way Sunday.
As stated Washington had lost six straight before beating Boston. I’m not ready to believe Washington is ready to turn things around and this could be a let down spot after a huge upset over an in conference opponent. If the Canucks get it going early Washington won’t be able to keep up offensively.
