Number 10: Brock Purdy

Now it may seem weird having the Quarterback who was 4th in MVP voting at the bottom of this list. This decision was made due to the absolutely star studded surrounding cast around the QB. It may not seems fair to have a QB be penalized by his receiving corp and MVP candidate running back however it has to be taken into account in an evaluation of the individuals skill at the QB position.

Number 9: Matthew Stafford

This season was an interesting one for Matthew Stafford and the LA Rams where in the beginning they seemed to be written off due to poor play and injuries. Despite those early woes and the emergence of ROTY runner up Puka Nacua, Stafford still bolstered a solid stat line of 3,956 yards, 24 TDs, and 11 INTs. Along with the stats he led them on a hot streak at the end of the year ending with a heartbreaking one point loss to his old team in the wild card round.

Number 8: Tua Tagovailoa

Tua has been the center of debate for a couple of seasons now with fans not able to decide where they stand on him. Whether or not you side with or against him it’s hard not to be impressed by his stats. On the year Tagovailoa led the league in passing with 4,624 yards while throwing for 24 touchdowns and 14 Interceptions.

Number 7: Jared Goff

After seemingly being given up on by the Los Angeles Rams and “dumped” into Detroit, Jared Goff has begun to shine and show why he was a former number 1 pick. Goff threw for a very impressive 4,575 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions while leading the Lions to their first ever NFC North title.

Number 6: C.J. Stroud

This years Rookie of the Year was not only the top rookie QB but one of the best QBs in the entire league. C.J. Stroud was one of if not the best rookie QB we’ve seen in some time and if not for a concussion causing him to miss two games he could be a record holder in several categories. On the year Stroud threw for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions. All of this while leading a supposedly rebuilding Texans team to the divisional round of the playoffs earns him a spot on this list.

Number 5: Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott has been and enigma of sorts for some time now. That coming from his impressive stat lines year after year but lack of success when it matters in the playoffs. This year Prescott finished second in MVP voting after leading the Cowboys to their third straight 12 win season. He put up 4,516 yards, a league leading 36 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions in his MVP campaign. Perhaps an upset loss at home to the Packers in the wild card round is what kept him from winning that coveted award.

Number 4: Jordan Love

The Packers did it again. After an off-season filled with question marks for the Green Bay Packers at the QB position it seems they’ve got their answer. after a somewhat slow start to the year Jordan Love exploded as the hottest quarterback in the NFL in the last 10 weeks of the season. In that time frame throwing for 19 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions to end the year. He ended up finishing the year with 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. It’s astonishing to see he received 0 MVP votes despite nearly leading his team to an NFC Championship game appearance.

Number 3: Lamar Jackson

Again this may seem like an odd ranking given that Lamar Jackson just won the MVP for the season. On the season Lamar Jackson totaled 4,499 yards, 29 touchdowns and 13 turnovers when adding rushing and passing stats. While this stat line may have won him the MVP award due to his teams success it just wasn’t enough to crack the top 2 in this list.

Number 2: Josh Allen

Another Quarterback that seems to be at the center of heavy debate given his ability to turn the ball over. Despite this fault it is hard to deny the talent that Josh Allen possesses totaling 4,830 yards, 44 touchdowns, and 23 turnovers. Landing at 5th in MVP voting this year and receiving the only vote that stopped Lamar Jackson from being the unanimous MVP with his stat line it has landed him at number 2 on this list.

Number 1: Patrick Mahomes

The Brady to Josh Allen’s Manning seems to be the only reason the Bills have yet to make a Super Bowl during the last couple of years. Patrick Mahomes has possibly been the best QB in football for a while now. The exact timespan can be put up for debate. Even if you aren’t a true believer in him it is absolutely undeniable that he has the most impressive arm talent currently in the NFL. Despite not necessarily having a WR1 this season Mahomes was still able to put up 4,183 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. That may not seem like QB1 numbers on the year but this list wasn’t based solely off of statistics (although it played a part in some) but more so off of talent and skill at the quarterback position. Those factors alone made it an obvious choice to put Mahomes at the 1 spot.
