The Dallas Cowboys face numerous decisions this offseason regarding contracts and personnel for the upcoming season. One imminent decision looming large is the potential contract extension for Micah Parsons, akin to a speeding freight train.

As Micah Parsons approaches the final year of his rookie contract in 2024, the Cowboys aren’t under pressure to finalize a deal with him just yet. They could even opt to franchise tag him in 2025, theoretically delaying the negotiation process.

With the cowboys having several moving parts this season Micah knows it will be a waiting game for the next month or so. All logic points to

“I won’t find anything out until March to see if they are interested in doing it, I know they’ve gotta get CeeDee Lamb done, I think that’s the priority right now,” Parsons said on Super Bowl Live.

As Dak Prescott emerges as the pivotal contract decision, we believe that despite Micah emphasizing Lamb’s contract as a priority, Dak’s extension might ultimately take precedence. This is due to his significant salary cap impact in 2024 and the potential for his extension to create space for other negotiations.

However, should Jerry and Stephen Jones approach Micah to initiate the process, he would wholeheartedly embrace it. He unequivocally expressed his desire to stay with the Cowboys for the entirety of his career.

“If they are ready to talk about a deal [now], get a deal done I’ll be super excited,” Parsons said. “I’m ready to be a Cowboy for life, this is the team I wanna be with, this is the team I want to win a championship with. So what’s meant for me is meant for me, I’m not going to rush the process and keep working until it’s time.”

Since 2021, Parson has accumulated 40.5 sacks (ranking fourth) in a mere 50 games, along with 51 tackles for loss (ranking third) and 89 quarterback hits.

With Micah constantly facing double and triple teams, the apparent lack of holding calls remains a widely discussed topic on social media.

At the end of the day, Micah knows he has to wait out CeeDee and Dak negotiations, but he plans to be a Dallas Cowboy for life.
