A perfect 4 for 4.

Cleveland won every single award, that we were up for.

The Cleveland Browns had an incredible season, that cumulated with an improbable playoff appearance.

It started when they lost their Pro-Bowl RT Jack Conklin for the year, in the first half of the first game of the season.

In the first quarter, of the second game of the year, they lost the Pro-Bowl HB Nick Chubb to a gruesome knee injury.

It only continued to snowball from there.

It got so bad that they had to call veteran Joe Flacco, who literally came off the couch, to come play quarterback.

The Browns ended up starting a total of 5 different quarterbacks this season.

Overcoming losing 26% of their starting salary cap to injuries, the most in NFL history.

While the season ended with a demoralizing 45-14 loss to the Houston Texans in the AFC Wildcard Round, the Browns had a hellava lot to be proud of.

And the voters for the NFL Awards have rewarded the Browns.

NFL Assistant Coach of the Year – Cleveland Browns, Defensive Coordinator – Jim Schwartz.

The Browns had one of the worst defenses last season under former coordinator Joe Woods. Jim Schwartz came into Cleveland with a Super Bowl winning pedigree and with the reputation of running an aggressive, attacking, man-to-man style defense.

The Browns ended the regular season with the #1 ranked defense in the NFL.

NFL Coach of the Year – Cleveland Browns – Kevin Stefanski.

It was the closest margin of victory in the history of the award. He won it by literally a single vote.

Stefanski had to overcome to worst injury riddled season in the history of the NFL.

No team in history had lost as much money and players as the Browns did and make the playoffs.

No matter who was on the field, what their experience level was, or what their personality type is, Stefanski proved to the world that he can not only coach them to be their best, but that he can succeed at doing so.

This is the second time that Kevin has been named the NFL Coach of the Year.

He won the award in his first season as the Browns head coach, when he led them to the NFL Divisional Round Playoffs.

NFL Defensive Player of the Year – Myles Garrett – Defensive End – Cleveland Browns.

After being in contention the last few seasons, Myles Garrett finally broke through and won.

Despite being double teamed, tripled teamed, and literally having players follow him around, Garrett finished the season raising the award and saying “Cleveland, this ones for you”.

Garrett had 14 sacks, 42 tackles, 4 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 3 passes defended, 14 stuffs, and 1 blocked kick.

Comeback Player of the Year-Joe Flacco – Quarterback – Cleveland Browns.

Joe Flacco was literally sitting on the couch at home. He was driving his kids to and from school and practices. He was starting to think that, maybe his NFL career was over. He was “staying ready”, just in case, by throwing footballs to his brother and father.

Then the Browns called him.

Injuries at the quarterback position ran roughshod through the room. They needed someone to come in immediately.

Flacco hopped onto a plane, (in that now infamous picture), and got to work.

What followed, was one of the greatest comeback stories in NFL history.

Flacco finished the season playing in 5 games.

He threw for 1,616 yards and 13 touchdown, with 8 interceptions. He completed 60.3% of his pass attempts with a 90.2 passer rating.

His ability to get the ball down the field and the trust he showed in his receivers, opened up a struggling offense. His gunslinger mentality and willingness to go for it, turned a fanbase that hated him, into loving him.

The 2023-24 NFL season for the Cleveland Browns and their fans, was a hellava ride, of ups and downs.

From the high hopes at the beginning of the season, to devastating heartbreak seeing Nick Chubb carted away, to the Deshaun Watson saga of “will he won’t he” to 3rd string offensive tackles playing in the playoffs.

It was truly a season that we will never forget.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
