Now that the NHL All-Star weekend has come and gone, we focus our attention on the push to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

There are quite a few teams that are neck and neck to crack the top 8 in conference. Here are my predictions for both the division winners and who secures the wild card spots in each conference.

Let’s start with the Eastern Conference first.

Atlantic Division

1. Boston Bruins (win Atlantic)

2. Florida Panthers

3. Toronto Maple Leafs

Metropolitan Division

1. Carolina Hurricanes (win Metro)

2. New York Rangers

3. New York Islanders

Wild Card (two spots)

1. Tampa Bay Lightning

2. Pittsburgh Penguins

The Bruins have been an absolute wrecking ball the first half of the season, 31-9-9 (71 points). Led by Right Winger, David Pasternak, who is leading the team with 72 points in 49 games. I think they represent the Eastern conference in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Now for the Western Conference

Central Division

1. Dallas Stars (win Central)

2. Colorado Avalanche

3. Winnipeg Jets

Pacific Division

1. Vancouver Canucks (win Pacific)

2. Vegas Golden Knights

3. Edmonton Oilers

Wild Card

1. Seattle Kracken

2. L.A. Kings

Even though I don’t have the Colorado Avalanche winning the Central Division, I think they figure out a way to represent the Western Conference in the cup finals. The Avs have two guys on their roster that make it very hard to bet against them. Nathan MacKinnon, who has 84 points in 49 games, and Cale Makar, who has 58 points in 44 games.

*Additional Prediction

Colorado Avalanche wins the Stanley Cup.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
