New York—On Tuesday night the Kickerbockers continued to roll! New York beat Utah 103-118 at MSG, to finish the month of January 14-2. With that win, the Knicks improved to 31-17 and took full control of third place in the Eastern Conference.
The last time the Knicks won this many games in a month was March 1994. The record for New York is 15 wins in a month, which goes all the way back to 1968.
“I’d be lying if I said I saw this coming, but I think one thing I do know is that we’re going to continue to get better every single day and that’s what we’ve been able to do,” Brunson said.

To lead the Knicks, Donte DiVincenzo made a career-high nine 3-pointers, finishing the evening with 33 points. Jalen Brunson added 29 points and nine assists. In the absence of starting forwards Julius Randle and OG Anunoby for the second consecutive game, Precious Achiuwa stepped up by starting and equaled his season-best performance with 18 points.

Josh Hart had his first career triple-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, becoming only the 10th player in NBA history to achieve this feat with a perfect 10-10-10. Additionally, Isaiah Hartenstein contributed 14 points and 12 rebounds to the team’s effort.
With starting center Mitchell Robinson sidelined due to left ankle surgery recovery, the Knicks re-signed Taj Gibson, the 38-year-old big man they had waived earlier this season, on a 10-day contract.
Fans began chanting “We want Taj! We want Taj!” late in the game and Thibodeau put his trusted veteran in at the end.
Following aSexton 3-pointer in the third, New York held a slim 61-60 lead, but Achiuwa’s score ignited an 11-0 streak. That culminated in a 3-point play and a 3-pointer by Brunson, extending the lead to 72-60.
Sexton narrowed the lead to 10 before the Knicks orchestrated a 15-point surge, featuring DiVincenzo sinking two 3-pointers and Quentin Grimes sealing it with two free throws, reaching a score of 91-66 with 1:38 left in the third quarter.
From there it was smooth sailing as the Knicks closed out another strong performance and one of the best months in franchise history.
Up next the Knicks Jump into February as they host the Pacers at home at MSG on Thursday 2/1 at 730 ET.
