The Luchadores (1997) I’m going to lump a group together for this entry. In 1997, the WWE was at the losing end of the Monday Night Wars.

Vince and Co. were obviously throwing things against the wall to see if anything stuck. Meanwhile, WCW had achieved some notoriety signing many luchadores from AAA, making for fast paced action previously unseen in the United States. Vince decided to pick up some luchadores for the beginnings of the light heavyweight division.

Unfortunately, nothing came of it outside of a few trios matches and several luchadores (including legend Mil Mascaras) competing in the Rumble match.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
