On Sunday afternoon, Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers are interviewing former Atlanta Falcons Head Coach, Arthur Smith, for their vacant offensive coordinator position.
Smith was the Head Coach for the Atlanta Falcons from 2021-2023, and was fired following the teams third consecutive season with a record of 7-10. Smith was the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans during the 2019 and 2020 season, before the Falcons hired him as their head coach.
The Pittsburgh Steelers fired their offensive coordinator, Matt Canada, after week 11. Shortly after Canada was fired, the Steelers promoted running backs coach Eddie Faulkner, as their interim offensive coordinator.
The Steelers finished the 2023 season in third place in the AFC North with a record of 10-7, finishing their season with Mason Rudolph at quarterback. Pittsburgh made the playoffs, but were a first round exit during the Wild Card Round against the Buffalo Bills.
Is this a good move for the Steelers if they hire Smith as OC? Let us know on X @WeLikeSportzPC what you think?
