On Sunday morning, Ian Rapoport reported on NFL GameDay, that the Detroit Lions are looking to to have a conversation with QB Jared Goff regarding a contract extension during the upcoming NFL Offseason.

Jared Goff and the Lions will be playing in the NFC Championship game this evening against the San Francisco 49ers. 49ers are giving 7.5 points in this matchup.

Goff has been with the Lions since being traded from the Los Angeles Rams, back in 2021. The Lions quarterback has been in the league for eight seasons (5 seasons with the Rams, 3 seasons with the Lions), and is a three time pro bowler.

Goff this past season started in 17 games, had a regular season record of 12-5, completed 407 passes in 605 attempts, totaling 4,575 passing yards (having the second most behind Tua Tagovailoa’s 4,624), 30 passing touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.

Throughout Goff’s NFL career he has played in 117 games (starting all 117 games), holding a career regular season record of 66-50-1, completing 2,657 passes in 4,107 attempts, totaling 30,429 passing yard, 185 passing touchdowns, and 82 interceptions. The current Lion’s QB has 13 comebacks and 16 game-winning drives.

As for the Goff’s statistics during the playoffs, the quarterback has made four appearances, having a record of 4-3, starting 7 games (not starting in one back in the 2020 season with the Rams), completing 165 passes in 267 attempts, 1,864 passing yards, 7 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions.

During the 2023 NFL Playoffs, Goff has completed 52 passes in 70 attempts, holding a completion percentage of 74.3%, 564 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions, and one game winning drive….heading into the NFC Championship.
