Philadelphia — Thursday morning Vic Fangio travelled to Philly to sign his contract, as the new defensive coordinator for the Eagles, according to Adam Schefter. This is the first move of many in a complete overhaul of the Eagles coaching staff.

The deal comes just a day after the Miami Dolphins and the veteran coach Fangio mutually agreed to part ways.

Under Fangio’s leadership, the Dolphins were 10 in yards allowed against this season, a shift from their 18th ranking in the previous year. Fangio’s defensive strategy propelled the team to third place in the NFL for sacks, totaling 56.

However, in four of their last six games, the Dolphins conceded over 400 yards to opposing offenses, resulting in losses for all four games.

With Sirianni clearing house, this is the beginning of a fresh start. The question remains, is it the right move for a defense that’s full of talent, but in shambles? Time will tell.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
