Manitoba—New York Islanders(19-15-10) goalie Ilya Sorokin stopped 40 shots on Tuesday evening, but the Winnipeg Jets(29-10-4) took 44 shots. Anders Lee netted 2 goals for the Isles, who lost 4-2.

Kyle Connor made a comeback with an empty-net goal after being absent for 16 games, while Mason Appleton ended a 25-game scoring drought, contributing to the Winnipeg Jets’ victory over the New York Islanders on Tuesday.

Gabriel Vilardi and Neal Pionk also found the net for the Jets, who had an eight-game win streak and a 14-game point run. their momentum halted with a 2-0 loss to Philadelphia on Saturday.

Connor Hellebuyck made 35 saves for Winnipeg.

Next up, the Islanders finish a four game road trip this Friday in Chicago.
