Memphis— Julius Randle notched 24 points and 11 rebounds, while OG Anunoby scored 18 points, leading the New York Knicks(23-16) to a 106-94 victory against the makeshift Memphis Grizzlies(14-25) on Saturday night.

Miles McBride, stepping in for the injured Jalen Brunson, contributed a career-best 19 points and five assists for the Knicks, securing their sixth win in the last seven games.

GG Jackson guided the Grizzlies with 20 points and 6 rebounds, while Vince Williams Jr. finished with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists. Luke Kennard and David Roddy each contributed 14 points for Memphis.

The Knicks dominated the rebounds against the smaller Grizzlies, surpassing Memphis 56-35, and Isaiah Hartenstein equaled his career-high with 20 boards. The strong rebounding played a crucial role in mitigating New York’s 23 turnovers.

“It wasn’t a great game for us in general,” Hartenstein said. “The second half was better, but we need to play better. I actually feel like the first half was embarrassing.”

The Knicks widened the gap in the third quarter by intensifying their defensive efforts. This led to a 24-8 rally midway through the period, with the Knicks outscoring Memphis 30-15 in the quarter. This proved sufficient to withstand small runs by Memphis in the final period, as the Grizzlies couldn’t come closer than eight points down the stretch.

“I thought the defense picked up in the second half. But our turnovers were problematic. Then we settled down and got better shots,” said Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau.

Thibodeau recorded his 500th career win with the victory Saturday.
