On Friday evening, Jeff Passan, of ESPN, reported that former Cleveland Guardians, and Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher, Lucas Giolito, has been signed.
Giolito has secured a two year contract worth $38.5 million. Giolito is coming off of a 2023 season with a record of 8-15, 4.88 ERA, 33 games started, 184.1 innings pitched, 204 strikeouts, and 73 walks.
Giolito with last season’s performance doesn’t seem to match his recent contract, but throughout his career has proved that he is of value with a contract of that stature.
Throughout his career, Giolito, has started in 178 games, holding a record of 61-62, with an ERA of 4.43, 1013.2 innings pitched, 385 walks, and 1077 strikeouts.
