Since the Cleveland Browns officially started playing football games in 1946.
In those 77 years of play, the Browns have 5 wide receivers inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Hall of Fame Inductees.
WR Dante Lavelli, enshrined in 1975.
WR Bobby Mitchell, enshrined in 1983.
WR Paul Warfield, also enshrined in 1983.
WR Tommy McDonald, enshrined in 1998.
WR Mac Speedie, enshrined in 2020.
The Browns have had more recent team legendary wide receivers, such as Eric Metcalf, Webster Slaughter, Kevin Johnson, Gary Collins, etc, just to name a few.
In all that time, the Browns have never had a wide receiver have 1,000 yards receiving in back-to-back seasons.
Until now.
In the year of our lord 2023, WR Amari Cooper etched his name in the Browns record books and the hearts of Browns fans, by being the first to ever pull of that feat.
Cooper had 78 catches, for 1,160 yards, and 9 TDs last season.
So far this season, he now has 72 catches, for 1,250 yards, and 5 TDs. Plus, there are still 2 regular season games left.
That wasn’t the only record that he broke either.
Cooper is now the all-time record for most receiving yards in a single game.
He finished Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans, with 11 catches, for a massive 265 yards, and 2 TDs.

The Cleveland Browns currently have the #5 seed in the NFL Playoffs, and are looking to guarantee a spot with a win on Thursday Night, at home against the visiting New York Jets.
Game starts at 8:15 PM (EST) on Amazon Prime.
