Los Angeles— On Saturday night, the Los Angeles Clippers(15-10) extended their win-streak to seven games with a dominating 144-122 victory over the New York Knicks(14-11). Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with 36 points and Paul George contributed 25.
After a 42 point second quarter, the Clippers took a 77-66 point lead into the break.
In the early third quarter, Leonard sparked an 8-0 run with a 3-pointer. Later, he and George teamed up to sink three consecutive 3-pointers, to take a commanding 22-point lead.
Jalen Brunson, coming off a career-high 50-point performance in Phoenix on Friday, scored 22 points. Where he was perfect from 3-point range on Friday, he was 2-5 against the Clippers. Julius Randle also contributed 22 points, while RJ Barrett and Donte DiVincenzo each had 18 points, including five 3-pointers from DiVincenzo.
In the third quarter, Leonard and George dominated, contributing 30 points to LA’s total of 37. This gave the Clippers a 114-98 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Harden had 10 points and 12 assists.
Josh Hart got ejected after receiving two technical fouls for comments to the referee in the early second quarter. Russell Westbrook waved bye as Hart left the court. Randle exchanged words with the referee at the end of the period, resulting in a technical foul.
