Phoenix—Jalen Brunson’s eighth 3-point try for the night appeared slightly off target, hitting the side of the rim, bouncing around, and eventually finding its way through. The sixth-year guard’s impressive shooting streak made the shooter’s roll almost appear unfair. He made it anyway.

Brunson has a personal best with 50 points, making all nine of his 3-point attempts. Julius Randle contributed 23 points as the New York Knicks rolled to a 139-122 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.

Brunson showcased an impressive shooting performance, hitting 17 of 23 shots, with a perfect 12-for-12 in the second half. His last 3-pointer brought his total to 50 points for the night, and he also recorded five steals.

“I had no idea,” Brunson said about his perfection from long range. “I was just playing free.”

Phoenix, who have lost 6 of their last 8 games continue to struggle. losing star guard Bradley Beal to an ankle injury in the first quarter,

“They made shots and just got hot and aggressive,” Suns star Kevin Durant said. “They killed us in the pick and roll and that was the game.”

At the midpoint of the third quarter, the Suns held a 10-point lead, but they finished with a 99-97 advantage as they entered the fourth. Brunson played a pivotal role in keeping the Knicks in contention, scoring 19 points in the quarter with a perfect 7-for-7 shooting, including five 3-pointers.

“The way he shot the ball was special,” Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said.
