The Los AngelesChargers announced today that they are parting ways with Head Coach Brandon Staley and General Manager Tom Telesco after their embarrassing loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night football.

The Chargers suffers a 63-21 loss to the Raiders on the road not making a single score throughout the 1st half of the game.

The 42-0 score was the 2nd largest halftime lead in NFL history and the largest in Raiders history. to add insult to injury the Raiders successfully pulled some trick plays out of their bag during the course of the game.

Staley is only the 2nd Chargers head coach to be fired mid season since Kevin Gilbride in 1998.

Staley had a 24-24 record with the Chargers in regular season and was 0-1 n the playoffs. Owner Dean Spanos made the statement that Charger fans deserve more.

“These decisions are never easy, nor are they something I take lightly — especially when you consider the number of people they impact,” read Spanos’ statement. “We are clearly not where we expect to be, however, and we need new vision. Doing nothing in the name of continuity was not a risk I was willing to take. Our fans have stood strong through so many ups and downs and close games. They deserve more. Frankly, they’ve earned more.”

The Chargers originally hired Staley as their head coach due to his success as the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams.

A number of fans around the NFL were surprised that the Chargers didn’t make this move sooner. Especially after the Chargers gave up a 27 lead over the Jaguars in the playoffs last season to lose the game.
