The Raiders Defense Shined yesterday, but offense was another story. The Raiders needed just one touchdown or two field goals for a victory against the Minnesota Vikings, but they fell short, resulting in a 3-0 loss.

Interim coach Antonio Pierce expressed the urgency to evaluate everyone in the organization, emphasizing the need for improvement. With a three-game losing streak, the Raiders face the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night, heightening the importance of a swift assessment and turnaround, with a short week ahead.

Las Vegas defense was stout against the Vikings; Maxx Crosby became only the 5th Raider to break 50+ sacks and he did it in 5 seasons, but the Raiders offense finished the game with 202 total yards. Marking the 15th instance in franchise history where they failed to score. This match became the lowest-scoring NFL game in 16 years, and only the third in the past 40 years to conclude with a 3-0 score.

The Raiders’ reached the red-zone in the third quarter, getting to the Vikings’ 10-yard line in five plays. Unfortunately, a holding penalty set them back 10 yards, and on the next play, receiver Hunter Renfrow lost a fumble.

Rookie Aidan O’Connell completed 21 of 32 passes for 171 yards but threw a late interception after the Vikings took the lead. Pierce acknowledged missed opportunities and emphasized that blame shouldn’t solely be on the quarterback.

O’Connell, expressing confidence, recognizes the need for improvement, and said this:

“I have confidence in myself to execute and to do my job properly. I haven’t done it good enough, and so I got to be better at doing that. But I still have full confidence in myself to do this,” O’Connell said. “I’m learning every week, what it takes and working extremely hard to try to put a good product on the field. I’m not doing it right now. So I got to do better.”

Backup Jimmy Garoppolo, once the Raiders’ starter, is now in place. Additionally, the team faces concerns with star running back Josh Jacobs nursing a knee injury sustained in the fourth quarter as yesterday.

At this point things need to change, I feel like they just need to go get a real offensive coordinator and let AP do what he does with the defense. What do fans think? Is it time for heads to roll? We want to hear from the #RaiderNation ! Follow us @vinquezada1.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
