Super Bowl champion and former Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco had his first career start as a Cleveland Browns quarterback on Sunday, December 3rd against the LA Rams.
Flacco signed with the Browns during a season plagued with misfortunes and injuries. The front office and team have been on a search for a replacement QB after Deshaun Watsons season-ending shoulder injury.
This situation ultimately led them to sign Joe Flacco to a one-year contract. Flacco is a seasoned QB who played for the Ravens, Broncos, and Jets up until 2022. After that, he became free agent, until the Browns picked him up. On Sunday, December 3rd, Flacco made his debut against the Rams, although it resulted in a loss 19-36 loss.
In the game, Flacco had 23 of 44 pass completions, two touchdowns and one interception while passing the ball for 234 yards. Although the Browns lost, I’d say Flacco definitely made a statement. He looked confident out on the field; all considering the mid-season mix he was thrown into within a short period of time.
Also, even with one interception, we can’t be mad at him. Miscues and mistakes can happen to the best quarterbacks in the league. So, should the Browns let Flacco start the remainder of the season? I say yes.
