The NCAA College Football Playoff has been decided. Michigan, Washington, Texas, and Alabama are set to compete for the national championship after being chosen by the College Football Playoff committee.
Michigan and Washington, as undefeated conference champions of the Big10 and Pac-12, were expected entries, with Michigan making its third consecutive appearance.
Texas, led by quarterback Quinn Ewers, secured its first playoff spot with a 12-1 record and a Big 12 championship. Alabama, overcoming early challenges, clinched a playoff berth after ending Georgia’s winning streak in the SEC title game Saturday.
As stated, Georgia saw its pursuit of a third consecutive national championship halted by Alabama. Despite Florida State being ranked 4th after this week and going undefeated at 13-0, winning the ACC championship, they find themselves on the outside. Without quarterback Jordan Travis, they too will miss out on the playoff. Was FSU snubbed?
The matchups include Washington versus Texas in the Allstate Sugar Bowl and Michigan against Alabama in the Rose Bowl Game Presented by Prudential, with both semifinals on New Year’s Day. The CFP National Championship Presented by AT&T is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 8, on ESPN.
