After last weeks winner we move to 10-4 in our L14 article plays. We head to Lincoln Financial Field, in Philadelphia as the Eagles welcome the 49ers.
A rematch of last seasons NFC championship game, a game in which one would have to assume San Francisco has been looking forward to this since the offseason. Both teams are on a winning streak with San Fran winning three straight and the Eagles winners of five straight.
While the Eagles have won their last five contests and are undefeated at home, four of their last five games they’ve trailed in the second half. I’ve stated many times, if there’s time on the clock, Hurts and company always find a way to score but at some point luck has to run out.
Last week’s winner against Buffalo took a 59 yard field from Jake Elliott just to force overtime. While the offense is never really a concern, the Eagles defense has been vulnerable all year. They rank 29th in pass defense, 21st in total yards, 20th in points allowed and 30th in 3rd down percentage.
The 49ers offense ranks in the top ten in every category. Total yards, passing yards, rushing yards, points and 3rd down percentage. Not only are they coming in with revenge on their mind, SF hasn’t played since Thanksgiving, giving them extra rest and preparation.
I feel like this game will be exactly how the Eagles came in motivated to beat the Chiefs after losing to them in the Super Bowl. (And Philly was one Marquez Valdes-Scantling drop from losing that game)
In sports betting I try not to overthink things, but why would a 10-1 team who hasn’t lost a home game be underdogs?
Brock Purdy looks back to form and the Eagles have played with fire too many times over the last few weeks to not eventually get burned.
