The New York Knicks are gearing up for a trip to Las Vegas, well wait not so fast! After securing a spot in the NBA In-Season Tournament quarterfinals, the team found out their next destination is set to be Milwaukee.
To reach the Final Four in Vegas, they’ll need a win against the Bucks. While NBA teams are still getting accustomed to the new tournament format, the Knicks moved on with a 115-91 victory over the Charlotte Hornets.
Despite missing the chance to win Group B, the Knicks claimed the wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference based on a tiebreaker. Now, they await the East’s No. 1 seed on Monday or Tuesday.
The prospect of an extra game against the Bucks, an NBA Finals favorite, adds excitement to their schedule. The Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau emphasized the team’s readiness for whatever the schedule dictates.
The New York bench, led by Immanuel Quickley with 23 points and Josh Hart with 17 points, outscored Charlotte’s bench 50-35. The Knickerbockers did their best to not run up the score, as Charlotte was dealing with injuries.
The Hornets, who were without star point guard LaMelo Ball due to a right ankle injury, posted a season-low 91 points. The Knicks maintained control throughout, extending their lead in the third quarter and heading into the fourth with a 80-66 advantage, with Julius Randle and RJ Barrett combining for 28 points by halftime.
The Knicks and the Bucks are set to face off in the quarterfinal of the NBA in-season tournament on Tuesday December 5 at 730p est in Milwaukee at the Forum. For additional coverage on the NBA In-Season Tournament and all New York Knicks follow @vinquezada1 on X.
