The Washington Commanders lose another game to the Dallas Cowboys, on Thanksgiving night, turning their record to 4-8 on the season.

Friday morning the news broke that the Commanders have let go of their defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach, Jack Del Rio and Brent Vieselmeyer. With the worst defense in the league, I don’t believe anyone was surprised by that move but who is next?

When you let go of two 1st round defensive draft picks, you selected in the last four years, you can’t be planning for a push towards the postseason, but what exactly is the goal?

Second year quarterback, Sam Howell leads the league in passing yards, unfortunately the defense ranks first in yards allowed. Do you build around a young QB, or do you build around your highest paid players on defense?

New owner, Josh Harris, said he would evaluate decisions at the end of the season leaving most fans angered.

Call me a delusional optimist, but I’m excited for the future of the Commanders. I don’t believe the same coaching staff will be around next season, but whoever comes in is walking into a good situation.

With about 90 million dollars in cap space, and nine picks in the 2024 draft, leaves space to pick up some additions in free agency and build in the draft.

This will be a slow build, yet worth it in the end.

To all the Commanders fans, don’t give up hope, and as always, Hail To The Commanders.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
