The Indianapolis Colts have outright released veteran LB Shaquille Leonard from the team.

I have been told by a source that Leonard’s off the field antics, had become a “stick in the crawl” to some people in the locker room.

The Colts drafted Leonard in the 2nd Round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of South Carolina State University.

His career numbers are 614 tackles, 15 sacks, 12 INTs, 31 pass deflections, 17 forced fumbles, 6 fumble recoveries, and 1 TD.

The Cleveland Browns have had his former teammate LB Anthony Walker Jr. on the team for the last two and a half seasons.

Browns fans are already asking…..should we go after the three time all-pro, Leonard and reunite him with Walker Jr?

The answer is NO….at least not with his current contract.

The Browns have 2 good starting LBs in Walker Jr and JOK.

Takitaki, Fields and Adams are quality backups, who have seen time on the field in the past.

I understand why fans would want to see a reunion though.

They did combine for 759 tackles in their three seasons together. They were arguably the best 1-2 linebacking corps in the NFL during their time together.

Shaq Leonard is due:

$19 Million Dollars in 2025
$19.6 Million Dollars in 2026.

He’s an “off the ball” linebacker, who was not even the best linebacker on the Colts roster.

Nostalgia can be fun, and it’s great to relive the days of yester year, but the Cleveland Browns have needs at other positions than at LB.
