There is a lot of different opinions out there about the now former, Offensive Coordinator of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Matt Canada. Will Canada ever catch a break, or will he eventually be released from his coaching duties in the upcoming off season?

In 2016 Matt Canada was brought in by Coach Mike Tomlin to be the Offensive Coordinator & Quarterbacks Coach. Since then, Mike Tomlin has not had a losing season, but hasn’t had much progress in stat levels compared to what the previous coordinators have had.

With a struggling offense, fans often wonder if it is QB Kenny Pickett or was it the play calling schemes.

Players from other NFL teams have also had their own opinions on what they’ve experienced.

Surprisingly, most of them saying the same thing, “They’re too predictable”. If it’s not a struggling factor, it’s most likely that other team’s defense have already seen the same schemes on tape being recycled.

The well known American sports television personality, and long time Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Stephen A. Smith, has also vocalized his opinion in frustration about this matter stating that, “Canada needs to go!”

After Sunday’s loss to the Cleveland Browns 13-10 Steelers RB Najee Harris was asked if it seems like the other teams knows what’s coming and after a short pause he answers with, “Yeah, in some situations, to be honest with you”.

As of this morning Tuesday the 21st Coach Mike Tomlin has released the following statement,

“Matt Canada has been relieved of his duties as offensive coordinator. I appreciate Matt’s hard work and dedication, and I wish him the best moving forward in his career”.

In hopes of a change on the offense side of the ball, this move shows that Coach Mike Tomlin is clear about moving on to scoring more points and getting more victories.
