Entering last night’s game at 5-4 the Bengals were in pretty familiar territory. It’s not the first time the Bengals’ season started off on the rough side. However, with last night’s loss their playoff hopes may be hanging by a thread if they have any left at all.
They don’t have the toughest schedule remaining but they are now last in their division and have two division games vs the Pittsburgh Steelers this season. They also still have a game against the Chiefs and it would be a mistake to mark the Jaguars game as a win before it’s played.
If those games aren’t cause for concern Joe Burrow’s injury might be. New news has emerged that he has a torn ligament and will be out for the remainder of the season. That’s quite a blow for a team trying to make a run at a super Bowl win.

Jake Browning wasn’t terrible filling in last night after Joe was taken out but he’s no Burrow just yet. The Bengals may need a player of his caliber behind center to put together enough wins to grab wild card spot.
Their door isn’t completely shut just yet but seems likely the Bengals may be watching the playoffs this year instead of playing in them.
