It’s been confirmed by the Cleveland Browns, the QB Deshaun Watson is done for the season.
After undergoing an MRI on Monday, it was discovered that he had a fractured glenoid in his right shoulder.
Watson suffered the injury in the first half of the Browns historic 33-31 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
Cleveland Browns Head Physician Dr. James Voos and shoulder specialist Dr. Neal ElAttrache, determined that the best course of action, is to have immediate surgery; so as to avoid any further structural damage.
Watson had already missed four games this season due to a rotator cuff injury.
The Browns traded for Watson and signed him to a record breaking $230 Million Dollar guaranteed contract in March of 2022.
Since he’s arrived in Cleveland, Watson has only played in 12 games.
Watson’s 2023 season stats will end with him completing 105 passes out of 171 throws, for 1,115 yards, with 7 TD’s and 4 INTs. He also ran for 142 yards and 1 TD, in 6 games played.
This is just another blow to an already very banged up Cleveland Browns team.
The Browns lost Pro Bowl HB Nick Chubb to season ending ACL tear in Week 2. They lost Pro Bowl RT Jack Conklin in Week 1.
They’re currently without their starting LT Jedrick Wills Jr, RT rookie Dewand Jones, backup tackle Michael Dunn, backup offensive guard Drew Forbes, on offense.
Backup CB Cam Mitchell is already on injured reserve, while starting CB Denzel Ward and starting FS Juan Thornhill are listed as questionable.
The Cleveland Browns have a home game against their biggest rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1:00 PM (EST) on Sunday.
