At UFC 295, two titles were up for grabs at Madison Square Garden. Alex Pereira, in his third New York fight, surprised Jirí Procházka, securing the UFC light heavyweight title with a skillful display.

Meanwhile, in the co-main event, Tom Aspinall outmaneuvered Sergei Pavlovich, claiming England’s third UFC champion and the first in the heavyweight division, joining the ranks of Michael Bisping and Leon Edwards.

Pereira now stands alongside Amanda Nunes as one of the few Brazilian fighters to hold titles in two weight classes.

Light Heavyweight – Pereira posted the W over Jiri Prochazka via TKO at 4:08 of the second round during the main event of UFC 295 at Madison Square Garden, becoming the new UFC light heavyweight champion.

The fight finished as Pereira delivered a left hook, dropping Prochazka with his back against the cage. Despite Prochazka attempting to defend, referee Marc Goddard intervened; this led to some fans expressing disagreement with the stoppage.

The belt was vacant prior to the fight, while Pereira had previously held the UFC middleweight title earlier in the year. With this win, Pereira becomes the ninth two-division champion in UFC history.

Heavyweight – Tom Aspinall fulfilled his destiny by clinching the UFC interim heavyweight title while at MSG during UFC 295. In a fight taken on short notice, Aspinall knocked out Sergei Pavlovich in the first round with two decisive right hands, seizing the opportunity when Jon Jones had to withdraw due to injury. Despite early challenges from Pavlovich, Aspinall showcased resilience and delivered impactful right-hand strikes, ultimately securing his victory.
