The Patriots need to catch up with the QB/WR trends.

The Draft is a time when you decide the future of your franchise. The decisions that are made during that time determine the success of a team for the next 2-4 years.

It’s also a time to decide how you want to build your team and that’s a decision the Kraft’s and possibly Bill Belichick have to make to lead next season in the right direction but it must start with a change of philosophy.

For the past couple of seasons, PatsNation has been subjected to a non-analytics head coach, bad drafting, poor free-agent signings, etc. It’s time for Bill to steer New England in the right direction and it starts with drafting the most dynamic QB/WR duo in college football. The pairing of a college football QB/WR has been a trend for some seasons now. Burrow/Chase, Tua/Waddle, Hurts/Smith, and even the Carr/Adams pairing had promised (another story for another day).

It seems to be the way of the league now and it’s here to stay. With duos like Xavier Worthy/Quinn Ewers, AD Mitchell/Quinn Ewers, Jayden Daniels/Malik Nabers, & Jordan Travis/Keon Coleman to name a few are ready to show their chemistry in the NFL & ready to lead their new team to success.

If you can get a QB and join him with his guy, it opens up an offense in ways unimaginable. It frees up the other options to play freely with all eyes on the go-to target. Yes, we know the Patriots need more than a dynamic QB WR duo.

The Offensive Line needs restructuring, and some offensive coaching changes may need to take place but if Belichick can realize that it’s 2023, going on 2024, the days of ignoring that kind of pairing up, not looking at analytics, drafting WR’s that’s not gonna make a single pro bowl or only getting “New England Superstars” ain’t the way no more.

These days receivers wanna showcase their talent, and let you know that he is that guy. Sure he may come with a little bit of selfishness or “divaness” but who cares, if you’re a strong coach that can keep egos on lock and control your locker room that shouldn’t be a problem or prevent you from drafting a top receiver.
