CJ Stroud has been making a lot of noise this season as the hot young up and coming quarterback of the Houston Texans from early on in the season. His numbers aren’t bad, as he has logged 2270 passing yards, a 62% completion rate, 14 touchdowns, and only one interception on the season.

Enter Will Levis drafted 33rd overall by the Titans who recently benched Ryan Tannehill in favor of starting the young rookie. In his first 2 games he’s logged 500 yards, four touchdowns, and a 60.3 % completion rate. But unfortunately has already logged his first intercetpion.

There is a lot to like about both young signal callers and it’s likely both can be formidable with teams built up around them.
Stroud is well sized, tough, mobile, accurate and is good at identifying pressure pre snap. He sounds a bit like another more prolific quarterback we know whom already has many accolades to his name, Patrick Mahomes.

Levis has a strong frame and an equally strong arm with a crisp release. He’s comfortable with throwing from different angles with pace and accuracy. He’s also speedy particularly for his size. He reminds me a bit of Allen here.

Stroud’s main weaknesses seems to relate to feeling the rush and keeping his eyes downfield but thus far it doesn’t seem to have hindered his progress that much.
Levis on the other hand has been known to be inconsistent with his footwork, his field vision and anticipation (going from scouting reports).
I will give Stroud the edge here mainly because of the fact we have more data on him but also because he reminds me a bit of Allen who is a a brilliant athlete with a tremendous arm and running ability. But he has been a bit inconsistent in his decision making.
However, Levis looks to be a rising talent and there’s plenty of time for him to prove me wrong.
