Going into a Sunday afternoon with uncertainty towards the Arizona Cardinals versus Cleveland Browns is definitely a familiar feeling for Browns fans.
But there’s always a hope.
Browns QB Deshaun Watson made his return to the field after recovering from an injury the last few weeks. Watson was covered by back-up QB Philip (PJ) Walker during his time away.
Watson was able to complete 19 of 30 passes, covering 219 yards for the game, while also having 22 rushing yards.
Browns WR Amari Cooper had 5 receptions for 139 receiving yards, with one of those receptions leading to a touchdown.
Watson was also able to connect with TE David Njoku for a touchdown pass.
Last but not least, RB Kareem Hunt was able to drive one into the end zone during the 4th quarter.
The Browns kicker Dustin Hopkins was able to kick two field goals for 3 points as well, leadings to a Browns crushing victory over the scoreless Cardinals 27-0, bringing the Browns record 5-3, for 3rd in the AFC North, as of this week.
The Browns will take on the Baltimore Ravens at the end of the week.
What’s next…?
The Cleveland Cavaliers had a Sunday evening victory over the Golden State Warriors with a score of 115-104. This has been the first time the Cavs have beat the Warriors since 2016. This win brings the Cavs record to 3-4, 8th in the Eastern Conf. Donovan Mitchell (G) led the night with 31 points, 2 rebounds, and 7 assists.
Mitchell also had 5 three pointers as well.
The Warriors Steph Curry (G) tried to keep up with Mitchell with 28 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, with 7 three pointers completed. But Curry and the Warriors didn’t bring enough power to stop the Cavs last night.
Darius Garland (G) who just recently returned from injury scored 24 points, along with 3 rebounds and 7 assists.
Evan Mobley (PF) had himself a double-double night with 13 points, 16 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Jarrett Allen (C) who is also freshly returned to the starting line up after injury, had 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Let’s not leave out all of the other scorers, Max Strus had 15 points, Caris LeVert had 8 points, Georges Niang had 6 points, and Tristan Thompson had 3 points.
Now that the Cavaliers seem to have their healthy team back together, hopefully this will be the kick they need to overcome their slow start to the 2023-2024 season.
