With this season well underway and the NFC East, looking like a lock for the Eagles take the division, Cowboys grab a Wild Card and the Giants and Commanders continue to try and figure it out.
Today with the trade deadline looming the Commanders, did just that and took command of their destiny and started with the defense.
In two deadline moves today, the Commanders sent Chase Young(49ers) and Montez Sweat(Bears) packing, for 3rd and 2nd round picks, respectively.
What does this mean for Washington? Well the edge rush is now gone, but you have tools to rebuild with. This is the reality in this division now, with the Eagles continuing to add pieces to an already monstrous team the bottom half of the division is in a scramble to level up.
The Giants attempted two moves today, but only one was successful. The Giants sent Leonard Williams to the Seattle Seahawks for a second-round 2024 pick and a fifth- round 2025 pick. Then in typical Giants fashion the team attempted to deal Adoree Jackson to the 49ers, but did not report the trade on time; needless to say it fell through..
So the NFC East, in my opinion, has all been but decided for another season.
