The Heisman Trophy.
Considered by many to be the greatest trophy in all of sports.
I’ve already given you the history of this prestigious trophy.
I’m here to give you the REAL Top 5 front runners to win this honor.
1) Michael Penix Jr. Quarterback. Washington Huskies.
The 6’3″, 213 lbs, senior has completed 70.8% of his passes so far this season. He’s thrown for 2,576 yards, with 20 TDs and 5 INTs. He led the Huskies to the biggest win of the season, by beating their rival Oregon, in what might be the Game of the Year, so far. The truth is, without Penix, Washington isn’t undefeated.
2) Bo Nix. Quarterback. Oregon Ducks.
The 6’2″, 217 lbs, senior has completed 78.4% of his passes so far this season. He’s thrown for 2,089 yards, with 19 TDs and only 1 INT. Even when the chips are down, the Ducks are never out of it. He’s unfazed because he’s seen it all. Poised in the pocket, and he can scramble to pick up yards on the ground.
3) Ashton Jeanty. Running Back. Boise State Broncos.
That’s right. I have a player on a 3-4 team. Why? Because he’s the best running back in America. The 5’9″, 210 lbs, sophomore, has 151 carries, for 868 yards, with 11 TDs. He has NO fumbles. He doesn’t put it on the ground. He also has 30 catches, for 396 yards, and 4 TDs. He can even pass block well enough. He’s an all-around HB.
4) Jalen Green. Defensive Lineman. James Madison Dukes.
The 6’1″, 245 lbs, senior has 13 sacks through 7 games. If he were putting up these numbers at Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, or any of the “big name schools”, he’d be the leading story and media “pundits” would be talking about his endlessly. He’s not just leading the nation is sacks. He has 37 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 1 interception, 1 pass deflection, and a touchdown.
5) Jayden Daniels. Quarterback. LSU Tigers.
The 6’4″, 210 lbs, senior IS the reason that LSU has a winning record. He has total control of this offense. He never panics or loses his cool. Daniels has completed 73.1% of his passes so far this season. He’s thrown for 2,573 yards, with 25 TDs and only 3 INTs. He also has 91 carries, for 521 yards, with 5 TDs. He is rapidly moving up not just my board, (the real board), but other boards as well.
