Week 8 of the college football is in the books.
Once again, it was a great week.
We had a defensive battle of Top 10 teams.
We had a battle between Top 25 teams go down to a last second field goal.
We had a double overtime thriller.
This was a week that had all of us, glued to our seats.
Lots of movement this week folks, so sit back and enjoy.
So, without further ado, I give you the REAL Top 25, not that bias crap that ESPN and The AP puts out there.
1) Washinton Huskies. 7-0.
The Huskies hold onto the #1 spot, after surviving a 15-7 scare from Arizona State. It took a 12-point fourth quarter to win the game. Was there an emotional letdown after the big win last week? Possibly? Heisman Trophy front runner, QB Michael Penix Jr. had his worst game of the season. Throwing 2 INTs and 0 TDs.
Next game: at Stanford.
Game starts at 7:00 PM (EST) on FS1.
2) Ohio State Buckeyes. 7-0.
This was a defensive battle. It really shows how far the Buckeyes defense has grown in DC Jim Knowles system, in their 2nd season. WR Marvin Harrison Jr. had 11 catches, for 162 yards and a touchdown. Ohio State has not one, but two wins against Top 10 teams this season (Notre Dame and Penn State). Their resume so far this season is almost the best in the country.
Next game: at Wisconsin.
Game starts at 7:30 PM on NBC.
3) Michigan Wolverines. 8-0.
The Wolverines beat up on a team, that they were so supposed to. Beating MSU 49-0 in East Lansing. The Wolverines have not beaten a single ranked team this season. QB J.J. McCarthy threw for 287 yards and 4 TDs. There really isn’t much to talk about with this team, until later in the season when they start playing teams, with as much talent as they have.
Next game: home against Purdue on 11/4.
Game starts at TBD.
4) Georgia Bulldogs. 7-0.
The Bulldogs were idle in Week 8.
Next game: against Florida, in Jacksonville, FL.
Game starts at 3:30 PM (EST) on CBS.
5) Florida State Seminoles. 7-0.

It took the Seminoles to come back from a 10-point deficit and Duke losing their starting QB for them to pull of the 38-20 win at home. QB Jordan Travis had 3 total TDs (2 through the air and 1 on the ground). It took everything he had to keep his team undefeated. WR Deuce Spann had a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, in the 2nd quarter.
Next game: at Wake Forest.
Game starts at Noon (EST) on ABC.
6) Oregon Ducks. 6-1.
The Ducks showed no signs of a hangover from last week’s loss, as the beat WSU 38-24 at home. QB Bo Nix threw for 2 TDs and ran for another TD. Oregon had 2 HBs rush for over 100 yards, as Bucky Irving went for 129 and 2 TDs, while Jordan James added 103 yards on the ground. The defense had 6 sacks in the game, as they just harassed Cam Ward all game long.
Next game: at #12 Utah.
Game starts at 3:30 PM (EST) on FOX.
7) Oklahoma Sooners. 7-0.
QB Dillion Gabriel was taking on his former team. Gabriel transferred to OU from UCF. He completed 25 of 38 passes, for 253 yards, with 3 TDs and 1 INT. WR Nic Anderson had 2 of those TDs. He had 5 catches for 105 yards.

The Beavers did not play on Saturday.
Next game: at Arizona.
Game starts at 10:30 PM (EST) on ESPN.
11) Penn State Nittany Lions. 6-1.
The Nittany Lions went into Columbus feeling like they could dominate on offense and put up a bunch of points. Instead, they ran into a brick wall. QB Drew Allar completed only 18 of his 42 passes, for 191 yards, and 1 TD. The running game never got off the ground either. They had 26 carries for only 49 total yards.
Next game: home against Indiana.
Game begins at Noon (EST) on CBS.
12) Utah Utes. 6-1.
The Utah Utes went into the LA Coliseum and beat the Trojans for the 4th straight time. Junior QB Bryson Barnes finished 14 of 23, for 235 yards, with 3 TDs and 1 INT. He added another TD on the ground. Sophomore HB Jaquinden Jackson had 26 carries for 117 yards rushing.

QB Jaxson Dart had 246 yards of total offense and 3 total TDs, to lead the Rebels to a close victory over Auburn. HB Quinshon Judkins had 21 carries, for 124 yards, and 1 TD on the ground. This game shouldn’t have been close, to be honest.
Next game: home against Vanderbilt.
Game starts at 7:30 PM (EST) on SEC Network.
14) LSU Tigers. 6-2.
They played Army. They won 62-0. Nothing else needs to be said. It was Army.
Next game: at #9 Alabama.
Game starts at: TBD.
15) Notre Dame Fighting Irish. 6-2.
The Fighting Irish did not play on Saturday. They had a bye week.
Next Game: home against Pittsburgh.
Game starts at 3:30 PM (EST) on NBC.
16) Louisville Cardinals. 6-1.
The Cardinals did not play on Saturday. They had a bye week.
Next game: home against #25 Duke.
Game starts at 3:30 PM (EST) on ESPN.
17) North Carolina Tar Heels. 6-1.
The Tar Heels got upset by a 1-5 Virigina Cavaliers team at home. QB Drake Maye went 24 of 48, for 347 yards, with 2 TDs and 1 INT. HB Omarion Hampton had 19 carries for 112 yards. WR Devontez Walker had 11 catches, for 146 yards, and 1 TD. The defense, simply could not make the stops when they needed it.
Next game: at Georgia Teach.
Game starts at 8:00 PM (EST) on ACC Network.
18) Missouri Tigers. 7-1.
They did not need QB Brady Cook to do it all on Saturday. He did go 14 of 24, for 198 yards and 1 TD though. Cook also had a TD on the ground. It was HB Cody Schrader that shouldered the load this time. The senior had 26 carries, for 159 yards, and 2 TDs.
Next game: at #4 Georgia on 11/4.
Game starts at TBD.
19) Tulane Green Wave. 6-1.
The Green Wave survived a hellava scare by the North Texas Mean Green. In the end though, as usual, it was QB Michael Pratt who pulled out the win for Tulane. He finished the game going 15 of 21, for 194 yards, and 3 TDs with 1 INT. He also added 70 yards and another TD, on 15 carries.
Next game: at Rice.
Game starts at 4:00 PM (EST) on ESPN2.
20) Air Force Falcons. 7-0.

It wasn’t pretty, but the Falcons got the 17-6 victory over Navy. QB completed 4 of 5 passes, for 151 yards, and 1 TD. That is 30.2 YPP. The Falcons as team rushed for 137 yards on 48 carries. Again, wasn’t pretty, but they got that win.
Next game: at Colorado State.
Game starts at 7:00 PM (EST) on CBS Sports Network.
21) James Madison Dukes. 7-0.
The Thundering Herd gave them their best shot, but the Dukes showed why they’re a Top 25 team. QB Jordan McCloud went 21 of 31, for 264 yards, and 1 TD. The biggest story of this game was senior DL Jalen Green. He had 5 sacks in the game. He was unblockable all game long.
Next game: home against Old Dominion.
Game starts at 8:00 PM (EST) on ESPN U.
22) UCLA Bruins. 5-2.
The Bruins came in and took care of business. HB Carson Steele ran for 3 TDs on this 21st birthday, to lead his team to an easy win. HC Chip Kelly benched freshman QB Dante Moore, and brought in junior Ethan Garbers. He went 20 of 28, for 240 yards, with 2 TDs and 0 INTs.
Next game: home against Colorado.
Game starts at 7:30 PM (EST) on ABC.
23) USC Trojans. 6-2.
QB Caleb Williams went 24 of 34 for 256 yards. He didn’t throw a single touchdown. It was just the usual craptastic defense, giving up chunk plays, not tackling, and allowing points. If they don’t clean that defense up, they could very well lose 3 of the next 4.
Next game: at California.
Game starts at 4:00 PM (EST) on Pac-12 Network.
24) Tennessee Volunteers. 5-2.
Tennessee had a 20-7 lead at the half. They came out of the locker room flat, and just couldn’t get it going again. QB Joe Milton went 28 of 41, for 271 yards, and 2 TDs. He missed quite a few throws in that 2nd half. He has got to be better, if they want to keep their small chance at a New Year’s Six Bowl alive.
Next game: at Kentucky.
Game starts at 7:00 PM (EST) on ESPN.
25) Duke Blue Devils. 5-2.

The Blue Devils were up on top of FSU 17-7 at one point in the second quarter, and had all the momentum. Once QB Riley Leonard went down, everything else followed. Junior HB Jaquez Moore did have 16 carries, for 110 yards, and a TD.
Next game: at #16 Louisville.
Game starts at 3:30 PM (EST) on ESPN.
