Sean’s Week 6 NFL Wrap-up.

There are NO MORE undefeated teams left in the National Football League.

Two major upsets to take those teams down.

We also still have one winless team in the NFL.

We had our usual blowouts.

We had our usual nailbiters.

We had the usual horrific officiating, costing teams yards and possibly a victory.

It was a great week of football, and here is your Week 6 wrap-up.

Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs. Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime.
Chiefs won 19-8.

This was a sloppy game by the defending Super Bowl Champions. There was absolutely no reason to have won only by 11 points. The Broncos didn’t even play that well, which has been normal since the start of last season. Of course, the NFL cut to Taylor Swift a lot, which is annoying as all hell.

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce had 9 catches for 124 yards. K Harrison Butker continued to to show why he’s one of the best in the league, going 4 for 4, hitting one from 60 yards out.
Chiefs improve to 5-1.
Next game: home against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Game starts at 4:25 PM (EST) on CBS.
Broncos fall to 1-5.
Next game: home against the Green Bay Packers.
Game starts at 4:25 PM (EST) on CBS.

San Francisco 49ers at Cleveland Browns.
Browns won 19-17.

In a battle between two of the best defenses in the league. They got into a scuffle before the game even started. The Browns were without All-Pro HB Nick Chubb, All-Pro LG Joel Bitonio, and starting QB Deshaun Watson. So practice squad QB P.J. Walker got the start.

During the game the 49ers lost starting HB Christian McCaffery, WR Deebo Samuel, and LT Trent Williams was gimpy. This game came down the kickers. 49ers rookie kicker Jake Moody, went 1 for 3, and missed a 41-yarder as time expired. Browns kicker Dustin Hopkins went 4 for 5, including the game-winning field goal from 29.
Browns improve to 3-2.
Next game: at the Indianapolis Colts.
Game starts at 1:00 PM (EST) on CBS.
49ers fall to 5-1.
Next game: at the Minnesota Vikings.
Game starts at 8:15 P (EST) Monday Night on ABC and ESPN.

Baltimore Ravens vs Tennessee Titans. Game played in London, England, UK.
Ravens won 24-16.

This was another defensive game battle. Though the Titans had more sacks than the Ravens (6 to 1), it was timely big plays by Baltimore that had them in position to win this game. Future Hall of Fame Kicker Justin Tucker went a perfect 6 for 6 in this game. Titans starting QB Ryan Tannehill left with a right ankle injury.
Ravens improve to 4-2.
Next game: home against the Detroit Lions.
Game starts at 1:00 PM (EST) on FOX.
Titans fall to 2-4.
Next game: They have a bye in Week 7.

Washington Commanders at Atlanta Falcons.
Commanders won 24-16

Commanders QB Sam Howell threw 3 TDs, Falcons QB Desmond Ridder threw 3 INTs. When you throw the ball to the other team, you can’t win the game. Simple as that. The Washington defense made stops when they needed to make them. Falcons DL Calais Campbell got his 100th career NFL sack.
Commanders improve to 3-3.
Next game: at the New York Giants.
Game starts at 1:00 PM (EST) on CBS.
Falcons fall to 3-3.
Next game: at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Game starts at 1:00 PM (EST) on FOX.

Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears
Vikings won 19-13.

It seemed like neither team really wanted to win this game. The offenses were flat, all game long. Whether it was in the passing game or the running game, it wasn’t there. Vikings LB Jordan Hicks took a fumble back 41-yards for a touchdown. That was really the high point of this game, for either team. Bears QB Justin Fields left the game early in the 3rd quarter after dislocating his thumb. He is already doubtful for their next game.
Vikings improve to 2-4.
Next game: home against the San Francisco 49ers.
Game starts at 8:15 PM (EST) on ABC/ESPN.
Bears fall to 1-5.
Next game: home against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Game starts at 1:00 PM (EST) on FOX.

Seattle Seahawks at Cincinnati Bengals.
Bengals won 17-13.

It was another defensive game. (You seeing a pattern here folks). On two separate occasions, inside of 3 minutes to go, the Bengals defense stopped the Seahawks offense on down, inside the 10-yard line. Cincinnati CBs Cam Taylor-Britt and Mike Hilton both had interceptions against QB Geno Smith. It wasn’t a pretty win, but it was a win.
Bengals improve to 3-3.
Next game: They have a bye in Week 7.
Seahawks fall to 3-2.
Next game: home against the Arizona Cardinals.
Game starts at 4:05 PM (EST) on FOX.

Carolina Panthers at Miami Dolphins
Dolphins won 42-21.

The Panthers jumped out to a 14-0 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. It was the 2nd quarter that the Dolphins offense finally got going, and once they did, there was no going back. It was Miami HB Raheem Mostert, that had the best game. He had 17 carries, for 115 yards, with 2 TDs on the ground. The versatile back added an additional TD through the air as well.
Dolphins improve to 5-1.
Next game: at the Philadelphia Eagles.
Game starts at 8:20 PM (EST) Sunday Night on NBC
Panthers fall to 0-6
Next game: They have a bye Week 7.

Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars.
Jaguars won 37-20.

Colts QB Gardner Minshew came back to Jacksonville, the team that drafted him, looking to get a win in his first start of the season. Instead, he was welcomed back with 3 INTs, being sacked 3 times, and hit 8 times. It was one of those games, where everything went right for one team, and everything went wrong for the other.
Jaguars improve to 4-2.
Next game: at the New Orleans Saints.
Game starts at 8:15 PM (EST) Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime Video.
Colts fall to 3-3.
Next game: home against the Cleveland Browns.
Game starts at 1:00 PM (EST) on CBS.

New Orleans Saints at Houston Texans.
Texans won 20-13.

Texans QB C.J. Stroud continued to show why he is the front runner, as of now, for the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. He finished the game completing 13 of 27 passes, for 199 yards, with 2 TDs. He threw his 1st INT of the season.
Texans improve to 3-3.
Next game: They have a bye on Week 7.
Saints fall to 3-3.
Next game: home against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Game starts at 8:15 PM (EST) Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime Video.

New England Patriots at Las Vegas Raiders
Raiders won 21-17.

As with most games in Week 7, this was another defensive game. Neither offense has performed very well this season, and that was the case again here. The Raiders had 4 team sacks, and K Daniel Carlson rebounded from a bad game last week, to make all 4 of his field goal attempts in this game.
Raiders improve to 3-3.
Next game: at the Chicago Bears.
Game starts at 1:00 PM (EST) on FOX.
Patriots fall to 1-5.
Next game: home against the Buffalo Bills.
Game starts at 1:00 PM (EST) on CBS.

Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams
Rams won 26-9.

Rams WR Cooper Kupp had 7 catches, for 148 yards, and a touchdown, in his 2nd game back of the season. It’s looking like he’s going to pick up where he left off. HB Kyren Williams had 20 carries, for 158 yards, and a touchdown, on the ground.
Rams improve to 3-3.
Next game: home against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Game starts at 4:05 PM (EST) on FOX.
Cardinals fall to 1-5.
Next game: at the Seattle Seahawks.
Game starts at 4:05 PM (EST) on FOX.

Philadelphia Eagles at New York Jets
Jets won 20-14.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts threw 3 INTs, was sacked twice, and had 12 passes broken up. He continues to struggle so far this season. The New York Jets defense harassed him all game long, and continues to be not only one of the best in the league, but is keeping them in games.
Jets improve to 3-3.
Next game: they have a bye in Week 7.
Eagles falls to 5-1.
Next game: home against the Miami Dolphins.
Game starts at 8:20 PM (EST) Sunday Night on NBC.

Detroit Lions at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Lions won 20-6.

The Buccaneers receivers did nothing to help QB Baker Mayfield at all. I counted 4 drops in the game. Pro Bowl WR Mike Evans even struggled in this game. Lions QB Jared Goff completed 30 off 44 passes, for 353 yards, and 2 TDs. WR Amon-Ra St. Brown had 12 catches, for 124 yards and 1 TD.
Lions improve to 5-1.
Next game: at the Baltimore Ravens.
Game starts at 1:00 PM (EST) on FOX.
Buccaneers fall to 3-2.
Next game: home against the Atlanta Falcons.
Game starts at 1:00 PM (EST) on FOX.

New York Giants at Buffalo Bills
Bills won 14-9.

The New York Giants came to play. Even though Bills QB threw 2 TDs and wasn’t sacked, he rarely had a clean pocket. He was flushed out of the pocket all game long and kept in check running. Some “controversial” penalty calls and non-calls, really played a big role, and ultimately was the deciding factor in this game.
Bills improve to 4-2.
Next game: at the New England Patriots.
Game starts at 1:00 PM (EST) on CBS.
Giants fall to 1-5.
Next game: home against the Washington Commanders.
Game starts at 1:00 PM (EST) on CBS.

Dallas Cowboys at the Los Angeles Chargers
Cowboys won 20-17.

Both teams scored on their opening drive. After that it was a hard game to watch. It was ugly. Missed throws, stupid penalties, just a bad watch. Then things got a bit better in the 4th quarter. The Chargers defense sacked Prescott 5 times, and the Cowboys defense harassed Herbert all game long.
Cowboys improve to 4-2.
Next game: they have a bye in Week 7.
Chargers fall to 2-3.
Next game: at the Kansas City Chiefs.
Game starts at 4:25 PM (EST) on CBS.
