Looking at the scheduled games for Week 6 of the 23-24 NFL season, there are quite a few BANGER games, that I’m very excited to watch.
It was legitimately hard to narrow it down to only 3. I almost decided to go with an “honorable mention”, but that’s a cop-out, and I don’t roll that way.
Who is for real?
Who is as phony as a football bat?
This week starts us down the path to finding out those answers.
So here we go folks.
The 3 best games of the Week.
The Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers have bye’s in Week 6.
Game One.

Dallas Cowboys (3-2) at Los Angeles Chargers (2-2). Game is Monday Night. 10/16, and starts at 8:15 PM (EST) on ABC/ESPN.
All these years later, and I’m still typing in “San Diego” when I see the Chargers logo. LOL.
The biggest headline in this game is Chargers offensive coordinator Kellen Moore playing against his old team. You know damn well, that both Moore and Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy, have had this game circled on their calendars, all year long. Both are going into this game with something to prove.
- Both offensive lines STINK. They aren’t as bad as NYG’s, but they’re still bad. I’m expecting at least 6 combined sacks, between these two teams.
- Both teams have a habit of playing down to their competition. It’s frustrating to see if you’re a fan of these teams.
- Cowboys star WR CeeDee Lamb vs Chargers budding star CB Asante Samuel Jr. Need I say more. This is a great match-up.
My Prediction
I’m expecting both quarterbacks to see their fair share of pressure by these pass rushers.
With the Chargers are coming off a bye and having the better quarterback, give me the Chargers over the Cowboys 23-17.
Game Two
Detroit Lions (4-1) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1). Game is on Sunday afternoon. 10/15, and starts at 4:25 PM (EST) on FOX.
These are two teams that are playing well. One expected to win their division, and the other team….well….NOT. Except by ME. M-E. ME. I hope it holds throughout the season though. LOL.
- Tampa Bay QB Baker Mayfield is playing well. He has completed 87 of 125 pass attempts, for 882 yards, with 7 TDs and only 2 INTs. IF he can continue to play well in this game, it’ll go a long way, in shutting up people like Colin the Coward, I mean Colin Cowherd.
- The running game for Detroit has been picking up the last 2 games. Lions HB David Montgomery has back-to-back 100+ yard games.
- Both teams have good defenses coming into this game. The Lions are ranked 9th and the Buccaneers are ranked 11th.
My Prediction
I think this is going to be a good, close game for 3 quarters. I think Baker Mayfield will fumble in the 4th quarter, while trying to make a play, and that will swing the Big Mo.
Give me the Detroit Lions to pull away late and get a 31-24 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Game Three

Indianapolis Colts (3-2) at Jacksonville Jaguars (3-2). Game is on Sunday afternoon. 10/15, and starts at 1 PM (EST) on CBS.
Jacksonville is coming off of back-to-back victories while playing over in London for two consecutive weeks. They look like they have things rolling along. Indianapolis will be starting QB Gardner Minshew for at least, the next 4 weeks. The first of those starts, is against his old team. You know, he’s going to be up for this one.
- The Jaguars had 2 starting offensive linemen go down last week. LT Cam Robinson and LG Walker Little. Both are listed as “questionable”(as of this writing). That’s big, because they have no real depth along the line.
- With Colts starting HB Jonathan Taylor now signed to a contract extension, they can legitimately go two-deep and keep fresh legs in the game. HB Zack Moss did an exceptional job to start the season. He’s carried the football 89 times, for 445 yards, and 3 TDs with 0 fumbles. He’s averaging 5.0 YPC.
- The Colts have the 26th ranked defense overall, and 5th worst in passing defense. The Jaguars have the 16th ranked defense overall, and the 5th best in rushing defense.
My Prediction
Jacksonville is 3-1 vs Indianapolis in the last 4 games. Winning by an average of 10.6 points in those wins. This is a matchup of strength vs strength.
I am taking the Jacksonville Jaguars to sweep the season series, and beat the Indianapolis Colts by a score of 35-27.
Now put on your favorite jersey, pop the top on your favorite drink, open that big of chips, and enjoy Week 6 of the NFL.
DON’T DOUBLE DIP YOUR CHIP EITHER, you animal. Don’t be that guy or girl.
