College Football Top 25. Week 7 Edition.

Week 6 of the college football season gave us some great games.

We had a Red Rivalry for the ages, as Texas vs Oklahoma went all the way down to a last second hail mary pass to get a winner.

It took not one, not two, but three overtimes for the Trojans to get rid of those pesky Cats.

The Bulldogs grabbed the Wildcats by the throat and didn’t let go.

A leprechaun came into the Cardinals nest and got his hat snatched like he never owned it.

A massive coaching blunder caused the Hurricanes to die off against the Yellow Jackets.

A range of Cougars came into a Bears den and got ran out, licking their wounds.

We had favorites show why they were the favorites, and had upsets that showed why you NEVER count your chickens before they hatch.

I’m here to give you the REAL Top 25 College Football Rankings. Not that bias crap that ESPN and the AP put out there.

  1. Georgia Bulldogs 6-0

The Bulldogs put a good ole’ fashioned butt whooping on the Kentucky Wildcats in a battle for SEC East supremacy. QB Carson Beck threw for a career best 389 yards and 4 TDs. Georgia has now won 23 straight conference games.
Next game: at Vanderbilt.
Game airs at Noon(EST) on CBS.

2. Michigan Wolverines 6-0
Much to the dismay of my friend Nick, I have his Wolverines remaining at #2. Michigan is beating the teams they are supposed to beat. QB J.J. McCarthy had 2 TDs on the ground, and 1 TD through the air. They have scored 30 or more points, in 9 straight games.
Next game: home against Indiana.
Game airs at Noon(EST) on FOX.

3. Washington Huskies 5-0
They were idle on Saturday. They have a massive game next week.
Next game: home against #5 Oregon.
Game airs at 3:30PM(EST) on ABC.

4. Ohio State Buckeyes 5-0
It’s not always pretty, but the Buckeyes are winning. QB Kyle McCord had a career high 320 yards in the air, and had 2 TDs, to pull away in the 2nd half.
Next game: at Purdue.
Game airs at Noon(EST) on Peacock.

5. Oregon Ducks 5-0
They were idle on Saturday. The have a massive game next week.
Next game: at Washington.
Game airs at 3:30PM(EST) on ABC.

6. Florida State 5-0

HB Trey Benson had 11 carries for 200 yards and 2 TDs. Potential 1st round pick, WR Johnny Wilson left the game in the 3rd quarter with an injury and did not return.
Next game: home against Syracuse.
Game airs at Noon(EST) on ABC.

7. Oklahoma Sooners 6-0
The Sooners beat Texas in Red River Rivalry Game. It was a thrilling last second victory. Now they turn around and come back against QB Dillion Gabriel’s former team.
Next game: home against UCF on 10/21.

8. Penn State Nittany Lions 5-0
They were idle on Saturday.
Next game: home against UMass.
Game airs at 3:30(EST) on Big Ten Network.

9. Alabama Crimson Tide 5-1
WR Jermaine Burton had 9 catches for 197 yards and 2 TDs. Their offensive struggled mightily allowing Milroe to be sacked 6 times.
Next game: home against Arkansas.
Game airs at Noon(EST) on ESPN.

10. USC Trojans 6-0

The defense is straight up hot garbage. The Arizona defense pressured QB Caleb Williams all game long but the Heisman Trophy winner used his legs to score 3 TDs and will his team to a win in triple overtime.
Next game: at #19 Notre Dame.
Game airs at 7:30PM(EST) on NBC.

11. Texas Longhorns 5-1
The Longhorns lost in heartbreaking fashion to Oklahoma in Red River. They’re still one of the best teams in college football and HB Jonathan Brooks is the next, in a long line of great backs to come through there.
Next game: at Houston on 10/21.

12. North Carolina Tar Heels 5-0
QB Drake Maye continues to punch his ticket as a Top 3 pick in next year’s NFL Draft, as he threw for 442 yards and had 4 total TDs in a 40-7 beatdown of Syracuse.
Next game: home against Miami.
Game airs at 7:30PM(EST) on ABC.

13. Ole Miss Rebels 5-1
It took a 10-point, fourth quarter comeback by the Rebels to beat Arkansas. Head Coach Lane Kiffin doesn’t care how it gets done, as long as they’re winning.
Next game: at Auburn on 10/21.

14. Oregon State Beavers 5-1
QB D.J. Uiagalelei had 5 TDs passes in a surprising shootout against the California Golden Bears. WR Silas Bolden had averaged 54.5 yards on 2 kickoff returns.
Next game: home against UCLA.
Game airs at 8PM(EST) on FOX.

15. Louisville Cardinals 6-0

They got a big signature win to put a stamp on an undefeated first half of the season. Junior HB Jawhar Jordan is as good as any other back in the country. He went for 143 yards on 21 carries and 2 TDs.
Next game: at Pittsburgh.
Game airs at 6:30PM(EST) on CW.

16. LSU Tigers 4-2

17. Utah Utes 4-1
They were idle on Saturday. They’ll be looking to bounce back from a loss to #14 Oregon State in their last game.
Next game: home against California.
Game airs at 3:00PM(EST) on Pac-12 Network.

18. Tennessee Volunteers 4-1
They were idle on Saturday. They’re coming off a big emotional, revenge, victory against South Carolina, the last time out.
Next game: home against Texas A&M.
Game airs at 3:30PM(EST) on CBS.

19. Notre Dame Fighting Irish 5-2
The only good thing you can say about the loss against #15 Louisville, is that there were no major injuries. HB Audric Estime was limping at the end of the game but it doesn’t look serious.
Next game: home against USC.
Game airs at 7:30PM(EST) on NBC.

20. Duke Blue Devils 4-1

They were idle on Saturday. QB Riley Leonard suffered a high ankle sprain on the final play of their last game against Notre Dame. That’s something to keep an eye on.
Next game: home against NC State.
Game airs at 8PM(EST) on ACC Network.

21. UCLA Bruins 4-1
The Bruins took advantage of four Cougars turnovers, and pounded them into submission, pulling off the 25-17 upset, over then #16 Washington State.
Next game: at Oregon State.
Game airs at 8PM(EST).

22. Washington State Cougars 4-1
The Cougars uncharacteristically turned the football over four times, and they paid for it. The positive is that they had all those turnovers and still only lost by one score.
Next game: home against Arizona.
Game airs at 7:00PM(EST) on Pac-12 Network.

23. Kansas Jayhawks 5-1
The Jayhawks had 399 yards rushing in the game on Saturday. HB Devin Neal had 12 carries for 154 yards and 1 TD. HB Daniel Hishaw Jr added 134 yards on 19 carries, and 2 TDs. HB Dylan McDuffie had 13 carries for 91 yards, and 2 TDs of his own.
Next game: at Oklahoma State.
Game airs at 3:30PM(EST)

24. Kentucky Wildcats 5-1
There is no sugar coating it. Kentucky just got MOLLY WHOPPED by Georgia. The positive is that you still have HB Ray Davis, a veteran QB in Devin Leary, and a kicker that can make it from 50+ yards.
Next game: home against Missouri.
Game airs at 7:30PM(EST) on SEC Network.

25. Wyoming Cowboys 5-1

They beat Fresno State(who was ranked by ESPN and AP, but not by me). It took a 21-point fourth quarter for #11 Texas to beat them back in Week 3, AT Texas. They got a nice running game with HB Harrison Waylee, and they have 14 team sacks along with 5 INTs.
Next game: at Air Force.
Game airs at 7:00PM(EST) on CBS Sports Network.
