It’s not a secret or heresy to say, the Cleveland Browns offensive line has been a big steaming pile, so far this season.

What was thought not just fans, but by coaches and players in the NFL was that Browns OL was one of the best in the entire league.

Instead right tackle Jack Conklin gets injured, AGAIN, this time in the first game of the season. This injury catapulted rookie fourth round pick (111th overall) Dawand Jones right into the fray.

The worst player by far, BY FAR, has been LT Jedrick Wills Jr.

Wills was taken 10th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, out of the University of Alabama. He actually played right tackle for the Crimson Tide. He was moved to left tackle in rookie camp and has been there ever since.

Wills is at or near the bottom of the league in every statistical category. Run blocking, pass blocking, penalties, he just plain stinks.

In the free agent market there is an interesting player and scenario.

Former Dallas Cowboy and Cincinnati Bengal OT La’el Collins was medically cleared (there’s that word again) to play two weeks ago from ACL and MCL surgery. He tore them in Week 16 last season.

The 6’4″, 322-pound big man, went undrafted out of LSU.

Collins is only 30 years old, so he does have some tread left on the tires. It would be smart of the Browns to bring him to town and give him a workout. Let the team doctors look him over.

In all honesty, he can’t be any worse than what Wills Jr. has been. The Browns have nothing to lose and a lot to gain in this scenario.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
