There are reports floating around that teammates of Cleveland Browns starting quarterback Deshaun Watson are “aggravated” with him.

According to Browns reporter Jason Lloyd, some of his Browns teammates were, “kind of aggravated he didn’t play after he told everybody all week long, he was playing.”

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said on Monday, that Watson had been “medically cleared” to play on Sunday’s game against the rival, Baltimore.

Stefanski said that Deshaun Watson himself, made the decision not to play in the game.

Stefanski also said about Watson, “He knows his body. He’s played through serious pain before. Very, very serious injuries. It wasn’t a matter of pain tolerance or anything. He just did not feel like he had his full faculties.”

Cleveland Browns General Manager, Andrew Berry, came out on Wednesday and seemingly walk backed some of the statements made recently while also trying to minimize outcry from Browns fans about the situation.

“We were optimistic that he would play. He was optimistic that he would play. He worked his tail off during the week to rehab and be ready to go. When we got out on Sunday and when we took him through the pregame workout. it became obvious to all of us that he couldn’t throw or drive the ball well enough to perform in the game. It just wasn’t at a level where we felt comfortable that he could ultimately perform the duties of his position.”

The decision thrusted rookie fifth-round quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson into the starting lineup.

“DTR” as he’s known by fans, played collegiately at UCLA. He threw for 10,710 yards with 88 TDs and 36 INTs. He also had 471 carries for 1,826 yards and 28 TDs, in his time playing for the Bruins.

Getting told that you’re getting your first career start a mere hours before the game, didn’t exactly put him in a good position.

It ended up being a disaster for the young man.

Thompson-Robinson completed 19 of 36 pass attempts, for 121 yards, 0 TDs and 3 INTs, and was sacked four times in the game.

The Browns have their bye this week.

Their next game is at home against the San Francisco 49ers at 1 PM (Eastern Standard Time) on FOX.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
