The former Cleveland Cavaliers forward, that was traded to the Utah Jazz, in a trade for Donovan Mitchell, Lauri Markkanen, had to complete mandatory service for the Finnish Military after the conclusion of the 2022-2023 NBA Season.

Markkanen started his service for the Finnish military back on April 17, and as September is coming to a close, the Utah Jazz forward has completed his mandatory service.

During the 2022-23 season with the Jazz, Markkanen started in 66 games, averaged 25.6 points per game, 1.9 assists per game, 8.6 rebounds per game, and had a field goal percentage just shy of the .500 mark by shooting .499% from the field.

The Utah Jazz finished in twelfth place in the Western Conference in 2022-23 NBA season and is looking to improve off their previous season.

Welcome back home to the United States, and welcome back to work Lauri Markkanen.
