WWE RAW: Is The Judgement Day the new family of Jey Uso? The decision was made!

WWE Raw – September 18, 2023 – Results, Videos & more – Salt Lake City (UT)/ USA

The arrival of Jey Uso once again determined the developments on WWE Raw. Furthermore, the question was whether he would now join Judgment Day.

In the Main Event of the show the decision about Jey’s future was made…

With about 8,500 Fans, this edition was almost sold out at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City.

Cody Rhodes stops “Dirty” Dom’s ego trip

The “American Nightmare” finally wanted to talk about Jey Uso at the start of WWE Raw. But – as in the previous week – he was interrupted by Dominik Mysterio.

“Dirty” Dom held out the prospect of Jey joining Jugment Day afterwards and further solidifying the group as the most dominant force in WWE.

Cody suspected Rhea Ripley already had more interest in Jey Uso than in “Dirty” Dom, which the latter didn’t want to hear. Mysterio was angry: he thought he could count on the support of his family. Finn Bálor and Damian Priest came to the ring for the upcoming match.

•Singles Match:
Cody Rhodes defeated NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio in a non-title match via Pinfall with Cross Rhodes

Rhodes won a short match, lasting about two minutes, with the Cody Cutter followed by the Cross Rhodes. When Judgment Day threatened Rhodes afterwards, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens stood by his side. Thus, Judgment Day withdrew.

Owens wants to know why Rhodes brought Jey Uso to WWE Raw

The opportunity of the meeting was used by Kevin Owens, who wanted to know from Cody Rhodes why he brought Jey Uso to Raw.

“My job is to make people happy here. And you guys love Jey Uso, don’t you?” Cody’s question to the audience was met with cheers.

Rhodes thought he had had many second chances. Jey Uso also deserved a second chance. Jey had changed, he said. “And it’s good to have one less member of the Bloodline, isn’t it?”

Sami Zayn supported Cody’s remarks and said he might trust people too quickly, for that Kevin has always had problems with that. Sami: “You gave me a second chance – and that led to our tag team title win at WrestleMania!”

Kevin Owens mentioned how many title opportunities Jey Uso would have cost all three men over the years. He made it clear not to trust Jey Uso. Besides, he said, Jey was just one eyeliner swipe away from joining Judgment Day.

Owens: “I don’t trust Jey Uso. But I trust both of you – and I hope you’re right.”

Kevin then ran off on his own.

Raquel Rodriguez and Rhea Ripley injured last week on WWE Raw

The commentators stated that the returning Nia Jax injured both Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez the previous week.

Rhea had suffered a rib contusion, Raquel a whiplash.

In fact, these injuries are probably only part of the storyline. For example, Ripley is currently in Australia and was spotted there over the weekend with her fiancé Buddy Matthews (AEW) at an Australian Rules football game.

New Day vs. Viking Raiders continues as singles match

Actually, there should have been a 2-out-of-3-falls match between The New Day and The Viking Raiders on WWE Raw. However, Viking Raider Erik had not received medical clearance at short notice (in this case, not a storyline element). Therefore, there was a singles match instead.

•Singles Match:
Kofi Kingston def. Viking Raider Ivar via Pinfall after the Trouble in Paradise

Ivar was dominant for a long time – including a Big Splash from the edge of the ring to the outside and later a flawless Moonsault.

In the closing stages, both men battled on the ropes. From there, Kofi launched his opponent back into the ring with a Sunset Flip Powerbomb. Kingston followed up with a Trouble in Paradise to pick up the win.

Ricochet lets Nakamura feel the chair

Before the next match, Ricochet stated in the backstage interview that Shinsuke Nakamura should not overlook him. He had done the thing personally after the attack with the chair.

As Shinsuke made his way to the ring, Seth Rollins showed up. Officials tried to restrain the World Heavyweight Champion. But Rollins went after Nakamura. The Japanese star quickly took flight.

•Singles Match:
Shinsuke Nakamura def. Ricochet by disqualification

Ricochet impressed with a high crossbody off the ropes for a 2-count.

The match shifted to the front of the ring, where Shinsuke grabbed a chair. Nakamura missed. In return, Ricochet hit himself with a chair shortly after and was disqualified for it.

Seth Rollins’ back is again affected

-Ricochet was arguing with the official and was attacked from behind by Shinsuke.

Nakamura brought the Kinshasa and went for Ricochet’s leg. He slammed that into the ring post and then hit it with a chair.

Seth Rollins joined in and made the save on Ricochet. The World Heavyweight Champion wanted to bring a Pedigree. But Nakamura countered and Rollins flew into a chair with a back body drop.

Rollins’ back took more damage when Shinsuke threw him onto the commentary table. Officials tried to restore order.

-Later, an annoyed, limping Seth Rollins spoke up. He said that Nakamura should name the place, time and possibly the special rule for another match! There should be an answer from Shinsuke next week. No one should be surprised if it comes down to another title match at “Fastlane” in early October.

-Before an upcoming tag team match, Chelsea Green said her opponents Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark aren’t even friends like she and Piper Niven are. “If we’re friends, what’s my home state?” wanted to know Piper. Chelsea said, “Florida?”

•Tag Team Match:
WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Chelsea Green & Piper Niven vs. Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark ended in a No Contest

This match was just going along until Nia Jax suddenly appeared.

Nia threw Piper Niven against the ring steps. Zoey Stark got a Samoan Drop.

Chelsea Green cashed in a Hip Attack into the ring corner. And for her former tag team partner, Nia followed it up with her Banzai Drop. She now calls the action the Annihilator.

Damian Priest wants Jey Uso in the family (Judgement Day)

Damian Priest was the next member of Judgment Day to make joining the grouping palatable to Jey Uso.

“If you want it, we can be the family you’ve been looking for your whole life,” Damian said.

Priest simply asked Jey not to make Judgment Day look bad. He should give an answer by the end of the evening.

Chad Gable suffers a bitter defeat on WWE Raw

Chad Gable asked WWE official Adam Pearce when he could get another shot against Intercontinental Champion Gunther.

Pearce said he was impressed with his performance, but Gable would now have to work his way back up the rankings.

Bronson Reed confronted Chad Gable in this scene, which led to a match.

•Singles Match:
“Big” Bronson Reed def. Chad Gable via pinfall with the Tsunami Splash

“Big” Bronson slammed into Gable’s tightened knees. Chad then seemed hurt and couldn’t follow through with his Chaos Theory.

Reed instead sent Gable to the mat and followed up with the Tsunami Splash for a clear victory.

Jey Uso must make a choice

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn met Jey Uso. Owens was already annoyed and couldn’t help thinking that Jey had virtually already committed to Judgment Day.

Sami Zayn tried to calm the tempers. But also Zayn cared about Jey’s decision tonight.

At this point it was mentioned that Owens and Zayn would now leave the arena, as they had nothing more to do this evening.

Becky Lynch wins an Open Challenge on WWE Raw

Becky Lynch said she didn’t necessarily have the NXT Women’s title on her bingo card earlier this year. But “The Grand Slam Man” wants to compete with the best of the future and announced her appearance on Tuesday at NXT.

At this point, Natalya responded to an Open Challenge. The Canadian referred to Becky as a red-haired witch and attacked the newly crowned titleholder.

•NXT Women’s Championship Match:
Becky Lynch (c) defends her championship against Natalya via pinfall after a roll-up

The match that followed ran for the most part during a commercial break and then didn’t have too much to offer.

Natalya managed to fend off the Disarm-Her attempt, but was rolled up by Schoolboy shortly after.

-Dominik Mysterio met Dragon Lee in the office of Adam Pearce. Mysterio said he didn’t like masked men. They would remind him of his deadbeat father. Lee will challenge “Dirty” Dom for the NXT North American title next week on WWE Raw.

Vinci disappoints his IMPERIUM colleagues again

•Singles Match:
Tommaso Ciampa def. Giovanni Vinci via Submission with the Sicilian Stretch

Ciampa had again made clear in a statement that he did not want to wait any longer for his chance.

Ludwig Kaiser repeatedly tried to influence this match. This did not change the fact that Ciampa struck with a Kneestrike after about three and a half minutes. Vinci now got caught in the Sicilian Stretch and gave up.

Kaiser expressed his dissatisfaction with Vinci after his defeat.

Intercontinental Champion Gunther had been watching the match on a backstage monitor.

Cody Rhodes saves Jey Uso from Judgment Day

•Singles Match:
Drew McIntyre def. Jey Uso via pinfall after the Claymore Kick

Finn Bálor, Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest supported Jey Uso at ringside in the main event of WWE Raw.

As Drew got into position for the Claymore Kick, “Dirty” Dom climbed to the edge of the ring and distracted the official. Damian Priest grabbed Drew by his foot. This caused the Claymore Kick to not work and Jey Uso instead followed through with a Spinning Heel Kick for a 2-count.

Jey Uso was now sitting in the corner of the ring with Judgment Day talking him up. It eventually came down to a Fist Bump between Jey and Priest. But that turned out to be just a feint: Jey revealed his true intentions and followed it up with a Superkick to Priest. Then followed the Superkicks for Bálor and “Dirty” Dom.

McIntyre, however, took advantage of this opportunity and hit the Claymore Kick against Jey for the win.

While Drew made his way to the entrance area, Judgment Day fell upon Jey Uso.

McIntyre considered helping Jey Uso, but did not.

Instead, Cody Rhodes came running into the hall. Bálor and Priest left the ring, “Dirty” Dom collected the Cross Rhodes.

By the end of WWE Raw, only Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso remained in the ring. The “American Nightmare” helped his rival to his feet and a handshake ensued.

So Jey Uso seems to have finally decided against Judgment Day!
