WWE NXT – September 19th, 2023 – Results, Videos & more – WWE Performance Center Orlando (FL)/ USA

NXT kicks off this week with a recap of the NXT Women’s Championship match from the previous week, as Becky Lynch was able to defeat previous champion Tiffany Stratton and now holds the Black and Gold Brand title herself for the first time.

The first person in the arena is Becky Lynch, who returns to NXT to great reactions, and even as NXT Women’s Champion. She promises the NXT Women’s Championship World Tour, because she is here to fight, no matter when and against whoever. Of course, Tiffany Stratton will also get her deserved rematch for the gold.

That’s the signal for the former champion to join Lynch in the ring. She expresses surprise, as if there was probably ever any doubt that there will be a rematch. She insists and will take back her gold to become a two-time NXT Women’s Champion. Stratton sets up the match between “Tiffy Time” and “Big Time Becky” for tonight’s Main Event, but she wants her rematch on a much bigger stage.

So this is to take place at NXT “No Mercy”, which Becky Lynch is only too happy to accept. However, Stratton will have to live with disappointment, because the result will be the same. The two provoke each other a bit until Becky Lynch has talked enough, drops the microphone and starts a brawl against Tiffany Stratton. Stratton quickly gets some help, though, in the form of Kiana James, who also lashes out at Lynch. The two are able to catch Lynch off guard momentarily.

Stratton pulls out a chair from under the ring and while James holds Lynch down, she tries to hit her with it. But the reigning champion is able to fight back, disarm Stratton and break free of the hold, whereupon the two attackers take flight.

The Tag Team Champions are spoiled for choice

-The reigning NXT Tag Team Champions Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo are backstage talking about their possible next challengers, who they want to invite to a dinner. So they have photos of all the teams spread out on a table. They focus especially on the Creed Brothers and Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo, but they also have some respect for Hank Walker & Tank Ledger and Bronco Nima & Lucien Price.

-Ilja Dragunov joins McKenzie Mitchell for an interview. He promises that after a hard fought battle against Wes Lee the previous week, which he still feels in his bones, he will now fully concentrate on the title match at “No Mercy”. Becky Lynch enters the picture and Dragunov leaves the stage to her. Lynch doesn’t want to be treated like that by Stratton and James, so she challenges them to a handicap match that will take place in tonight’s Main Event.

-In the Meta-Four Lounge, the theme today is “Matrix.” Noam “Neo” Dar promises that no one will take the Heritage Cup Championship from him, regardless of whether his challenger chooses the red pill or the blue pill, or comes from Group A or Group B. In the end he triumphs at NXT “No Mercy”.

-Trick Williams runs into Dominik Mysterio backstage. The reigning North American Champion recognizes a bit of himself in Trick Williams. He tries to make Judgment Day a little more palatable to the latter, because it would have brought him out of his father’s shadow back then and made him into something great, which they could do for Trick Willy now. Williams, however, doesn’t see himself in Carmelo Hayes’ shadow, which is why he doesn’t need any support. Dom reminisces, because that’s exactly what he said at the time. He then disappears, leaving a thoughtful Trick Williams behind.

-It’s official! Becky Lynch will put her NXT Women’s Championship on the line against the former titleholder at NXT “No Mercy” on September 30!

-In the public viewing area, the other participants of the NXT Global Heritage Invitational will gather to watch the final matches of the group stage.

•NXT Global Heritage Invitational (Group A) Singles Match:
Butch (5) won against Tyler Bate (4) via Pinfall after the Bitter End

During the match, Duke Hudson and Joe Coffey left the public viewing area to prepare for their upcoming match.

-With this win, Butch secured the group win and will be in the finals next week, where he will face the winner of Group B.

-Thea Hail and Jacy Jayne are out shopping and trying on some new outfits. After some time, they find one that suits Thea. Next week they finally want to present us the new and improved version of Thea Hail.

Duke Hudson causes a surprise

The race between Nathan Frazer (4), Joe Coffey (4) and Duke Hudson (2) in Group B remains completely open. With a win over Coffey, Hudson could create a tie at the top. Since Frazer has already competed in his three matches, he will no longer be able to pull away on his own.

•NXT Global Heritage Invitational (Group B) Singles Match:
Duke Hudson (w/ Andre Chase) (4) wins against Joe Coffey (w/ Gallus: Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) (4)

-While Akira Tozawa is now without points at the end of the table, all other opponents of the group have four points and are also tied in the direct comparison. Kelly Kincaid is now backstage with Nathan Frazer, who was hoping for this outcome and still has a chance to enter the final. He is now hoping for a Tiebreaker Triple Threat Match next week to determine the opponent for Butch. But Kincaid has bad news for him, because this match will not take place next week… but tonight! Frazer takes to his feet and gets ready.

-Via Twitter, Mr. Stone commented on his protégé. So he had visited Von Wagner in the hospital after he was badly beaten up by Bron Breakker. So it does not look good for Wagner and he would thank for all the recovery wishes of the fans.

•Singles Match:
Roxanne Perez won against Lola Vice (w/ Elektra Lopez) via Pinfall after a roll-in

-Eddy Thorpe talks about the disrespectful way Dijak damages his ancestors and his sacred land. He challenges Dijak to a final clash, which is to happen in a Strap Match!

-In the locker room, Becky Lynch is visited by Roxanne Perez. She has gotten wind of the challenge from Kiana James and Tiffany Stratton and that Becky Lynch actually wants to compete alone. Perez doesn’t think this is a good idea and suggests herself as Becky’s tag team partner instead. Lynch appreciates the suggestion, but declines as Perez has just had a tough match and needs to recover from it.

Dragunov interferes, “Dirty” Dom must pay once again

For the following match Ilja Dragunov joins Vic Joseph and Booker T at the commentary desk. Before the bell is rung, Dominik launches an attack and is able to gain the upper hand. He grabs the NXT Championship from his opponent and takes a good look at it, meanwhile Hayes gets back to his feet and gives Dirty Dom some action. Then the match is officially announced.

•(Non-Title) Champion vs. Champion
Singles Match:
NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes vs. NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio ends in a No Contest

Ilja Dragunov, who had been rooting for Hayes throughout the match, was caught up in the action just under eight minutes into the match. So first Dominik Mysterio lands on his lap as Hayes is able to counter an attack, then Dominik causes a hard collision between the two men. Dom shifts the action back into the ring before delivering a slamming slap to Dragunov’s face afterwards. Dragunov then storms the ring and causes the match to be stopped.

Dragunov then continues to attack Dominik Mysterio and gives him the H-Bomb. The Torpedo Moscow is to follow, but Dominik pulls Hayes into the way, who takes the action in his place. Dirty Dom goes to make off with his North American Championship, but Dragon Lee gets in his way on the ramp. The latter, it was announced yesterday on RAW, will get a title match against Dirty Dom next week Monday. Dragon Lee knocks Mysterio down with a superkick and then celebrates with the North American Championship.

-In the locker room, Trick Williams is visited by Joe Gacy and Ava. The two remaining members of Schism invite Williams to join them, but Williams stands firm and refuses. He no longer seems completely convinced, but continues to stand by the Trick Melo gang.

-In the locker room, Duke Hudson asks Andre Chase for a few business days to take a breath. He has just defeated a man as big as an ox, he says. Chase questions who the MVP of Chase U and the “spoiler” is, to which Hudson answers both by name. Chase demands his student give it his all for Australia and Chase University and win the tiebreaker Triple Threat Match. A motivated Duke Hudson then sets out to triumph.

-In a dark alley, Scrypts, Bronco Nima & Lucien Price rip off a few people gambling before promising to tear apart the NXT Tag Team Division. They plan to start with Hank Walker & Tank Ledger before moving on to the Tag Team Championship. Self-made and cost what it may. They are coming from the dirt and will make it from the bottom to the top. “From the dirt to making it out the mud” – OTM!

-Hank Walker & Tank Ledger stand with McKenzie Mitchell and talk about how they are now a solid team and want to satisfy their hunger for wins. So they accept the challenge from Bronco Nima & Lucien Price.

NXT Global Heritage Invitational Finals have been set

•NXT Global Heritage Invitational (Group B) Tiebreaker Triple Threat Match:
Joe Coffey (w/ Gallus: Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) defeated Nathan Frazer and Duke Hudson (w/ Andre Chase) via pin to Duke Hudson after All The Best For The Bells

In the finals of the Global Heritage Invitational, it’s Butch vs. Joe Coffey as England vs. Scotland. Butch joins Coffey in the ring and both engage in a staredown, along with Noam Dar from the Meta-Four Lounge.

-Mustafa Ali has asked for McKenzie Mitchell’s time. There Ali gives us insight into his reaction to the announcement on Monday Night RAW. There, a North American Championship match between Dominik Mysterio and Dragon Lee was announced for the upcoming episode of Monday’s show. Ali doesn’t understand this, because after all, he defeated Lee in the #1 Contenders Match and earned his title shot at NXT “No Mercy”. And now the man he defeated is supposed to get a shot at the gold before him? Ali promises to take care of this injustice next week on RAW!

-Tiffany Stratton and Kiana James are in the locker room getting ready for their match against Becky Lynch. They butter each other up a bit before they have a special plan for Lynch, which they don’t want to discuss on camera, but on the way to the ring….

-Backstage, Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen and Fallon Henley watch the replay of their 6-Man Tag Team Match from the previous week, when Myles Borne turned on them and helped Drew Gulak, Charlie Dempsey & Damon Kemp to victory. Briggs and Henley get into an argument as Briggs blames Henley, who after all had the great idea to bring Borne in. Baron Corbin enters the picture and complains about the noise, saying he just wants to enjoy his well-deserved massage. Josh Briggs faces him and makes fun of the soft “Lone Wolf”. Corbin advises the rookie not to mess with him, but Briggs wants to mess with Corbin so badly that he needs the next massage right afterwards. Corbin doubts that Briggs could keep this promise and leaves.

-In the NXT parking lot, Carmelo Hayes storms out of the building. He’s beside himself after Ilja Dragunov once again interferes in his business. At “No Mercy” he wants to finish with the Russian for good, but next week at the contract signing he will already give Dragunov his opinion.

Next week, the contract signing for the NXT Championship Match at NXT “No Mercy” between champion Carmelo Hayes and challenger Ilja Dragunov is scheduled. The finals of the NXT Global Heritage Invitational will then feature a clash between Butch from Group A and Joe Coffey from Group B. The winner of the two will get to face NXT Heritage Cup Champion Noam Dar at NXT “No Mercy.” Also, Trick Williams will take to the ring against Joe Gacy, while Gigi Dolin is looking for Revenge against Blair Davenport. Eddy Thorpe and Dijak will have their strap match as early as seven days from now. Plus, Hank Walker & Tank Ledger battle it out with Bronco Nima & Lucien Price for a shot for NXT Tag Team Championships.

For today’s Main Event, NXT Women’s Champion Becky Lynch makes her way to the ring. But just a few seconds after she enters the hall, she already falls victim to the devious plan of Tiffany Stratton and Kiana James, who have apparently planned an attack. They attack Lynch and beat her all over the ring until help finally arrives in the form of Lyra Valkyria. After she can avert the first beatdown, today’s Main Event begins.

Things get extreme between Becky and Tiffany

Tag Team Match:
NXT Women’s Champion Becky Lynch & Lyra Valkyria defeated Tiffany Stratton & Kiana James via Pinfall by Lyra Valkyria on Kiana James after a Manhandle Slam/Diving Splash combination

Afterwards Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria celebrate their victory until Tiffany Stratton suddenly appears behind them with a chair and knocks down both winners. She then has the NXT Women’s Championship handed to her to triumph over Lynch. Stratton wants to leave the arena, but Lynch has already picked herself up and had a microphone handed to her. She now understands the way Tiffany Stratton wants her rematch, so she promises an Extreme Rules match for her match at NXT “No Mercy”! Stratton and Lynch then engage in a staredown, bringing tonight’s edition of NXT to a close.
