Not too long ago , we wrote an article regarding the Cleveland Guardians Playoff Future, and that was before Cleveland added additional pitching for September just on the final day of August.
The Los Angeles Angels, by the looks of it, are calling an end to the 2023 season, with placing multiple players on waivers, that as of Thursday evening, have all been claimed.
The Cleveland Guardians have claimed Lucas Giolito, Matt Moore, and Reynaldo Lopez off of waivers.
Reynaldo Lopez and Giolito have both been on the move for the third time in their career, being shipped to the same team. The Guardians , as mentioned in the article mentioned above, have had very interesting additions to their ballclub since August with Kole Calhoun and Ramon Laureano, as well.
Giolito might be the biggest acquisition for a major playoff push for Cleveland, more than likely being added to the rotation of Tanner Bibee, Gavin Williams, Logan Allen, and Cal Quantrill.
The former Angels pitcher has a 7-11 record for the 2023 season, 4.45 ERA, has pitching 153.2, has given up 139 hits, has struck out 165 batters, and has walked 57.
How will the Cleveland Guardians finish the 2023 season? Will they surpass the Minnesota Twins for possession of first place?
