The former top three pick in the 2021 NFL draft, who was thought of as the guy for the San Francisco 49ers, Trey Lance, has been traded to the Dallas Cowboys on Friday evening.

Did the 2022 season and the success of Mr. Irrelevant, Brock Purdy, change the plans for the Niners? More than likely.

Trey Lance looked to be the odd man out in the QB competition for the 2023 NFL season, with Brock Purdy and Sam Darnold, competing to become the starter for the Niners.

What will the future hold for the Dallas Cowboys now that they have not only Dak Prescott but now adding Trey Lance, as well.

Will Trey Lance be the future for the Cowboys with the consistent inconsistent performance of Dak? Will Lance be a career backup?
